Description
This is for the battle over at theconcreteblock.com which was to do up yourself as a jedi or sith. Fun stuff.The drawing is actually over a year old, but I did the digital inks and colors to freshen it up for the battle. I'm amazed I still like a drawing of mine from over a year ago... insane.
I am also starting to experiment with my colors more... mixing my painting and regular style.

Way to go on using different coloring styles. I find that there is a time and place for diffenrent techniques, and the feeling of the drawing will often warrent a new approach. I really enjoy the painter like style and the cell-shaded style. As you know I tend to cringe at most air brushing...

But no... I'm with ya... too soft and cheese cakey for me... I like them hard edges and strong brush strokes... I like to show them colors who's the boss!

Cool picture, nice strong poses on Jedi and Stormtrooper, and the colours are quite good too. Though I might have upped the saturation on that explosion and the light that comes from it a little more - it seems just a bit too muted.

Yeah, the explosion was an after thought... when thinking of a background, I realized all the movie posters and what not have big explosiony blasts behind them, so I figured, rock on! And then I realized it would have to be muted a bit to explain why it wasn't causing more of a light source...
anyways, more reflective I will add yes!
