If the lightening had a diffused glow from its starting point, It would be a perfect render. I still love it anyway, well done

Hello
Amazing colors here! It reminds of the story that was in the news a few months ago about the "new earth" this looks a lot like what they described the landscape might be like.
It really does give off the feel of an alien landscape, so if thats what you were going for congrats because you achieved that! And the render is great!
A few points, one of them being that again, like someone else mentioned, if the sun were to the side it may make it more interesting to look at.
I'm not sure I'm entirely happy with the water being green, and I agree with another poster about throwing in a little blues or purples in and around the image just a bit.
Lastly, and the one that sticks out the most to me would be the lightning. Of course if this was meant to be some sort of different world then I really can't say what the weather is like there or what their lightning looks like but this is such a serene scene, adding the lightning here gives the image an artificial feel, yes true the lighting itself may already be artificial, but I think you would want the viewing looking at the image to believe its possible? So I'm not sure the lightning works for this particular image. If you really like it you might try blending it in more with the clouds because the brush you used simply looks like it was stamped on right now and not blended in so you may want to try that.
I really like the water and mountains, superb job there! The way it all blends into the horizon is very realistic, well done.

I like the idea of this extremely stormy and really hostile landscape, and I think alone by your colour scheme you express that feeling of abscence of life. it is a really strong colour, with a very violent aspect to it, fitting perfectly to your whole scenario. I am thinking though, that perhaps some slight variation in colour might even emphasize that. a hint of purple in the shadows, some contrasting blues here and there, some yellows...the cool thing about colour is that you can really play around with it, experiment by putting blobs of colour here and there and see how they work it's okay as it is, but it could be carried further
what I am not so fond of is the landscape itself. I am not a big terragen fan, reason being its generic and distinctive look. the plateues that you have here, and those extreme peaks are typical for it. I think however that terragen might be useful if you use it as a basis to work from. If you modify the harsh silhouette of the peaks in the left and make it look a little more natural altogether, it would be okay I guess. Of course those peaks go along well with the violent feel, but I realized that often things look stronger in their feeling if we can relate to them, which is something that we only do if it looks slightly familiar or if we could imagine this landscape really existing like that
Also, the texture of the land is very terragen-ish, you might try to work in some rock photos there. Be careful though, and make sure that their lighting matches your render's light, or it won't look convincing.
Speaking of light, I am not sure if I like the positioning of the sun. it's so centered and takes the suspense out of the image. I'm not sure if you would actually see the sun that clearly with those clouds that are going on there
The clouds are relatively okay I think. Again, my issue is that they look distincitively like terragen. I might be annoying with it, but dunno, I am not sure if you would want a viewer to see your picture and go "oh that's terragen". but they do fit the feeling of the overall image, so in this case I don't mind them too much
What I mind however are the lightnings. they don't fit at all, and they look pasted on. keep in mind, too, that when you see such a huge lightning the landscape usually flashes up for a moment, too, as well as the clouds around it. but there's nothing to be seen of that here.
On to the water I find it interesting how calm it is, that's a cool contrast to the otherwise wild look. I am not sure if I would have opted for the calm water myself, but it's got something to it. Make sure your shoreline is more natural and softer, though. And by soft I don't mean blurry, but right now it's really very harsh and does not look realistic at all. And even on calm water you would have some small waves and foam building on its surface, so be sure to work that in the next time, it will really punch your water
Last but not least, I think it would cool if you painted in some sort of buildings here. You know, you could go really fantasy-ish and do some buildings of an alien race, or some kind of orc-ish creatures, that fit their hostile environment and show how they deal with it just a suggestion though, but I think that would be cool
Anyway, keep up the work
Daniel

I like...Did you use Xenofex to make the lightning bolts?

Great atmosphere.
The only thing I would improve is the water shore, but for that we need to wait for TG people to upgrade the water generator....
