I believe the explaination was in the booklet for the game in the story section. Rikku gave Yuna the gunner dress sphere as a gift. I always thought it was weird to give the magic person guns and not the one with the culture of guns/machines.

Well in her warrior costume she uses the exact same stance as Tidus...
I guess, as everyone only saw her as the high summoner, she decided to change her style to distance herself from that.

Hehe, that's cute. Yeah, I wondered why Yuna's default was a gunner, but oh well, maybe it was a part of her wanting to try new things. Although you could make her your white mage, so I guess that isn't bad.
And yeah, Tomb Raider came to mind several times playing FFX-2. Tis a shame, it had a pretty good story but the Charlie's Angels poses and cheesyness got to me.

Yeah, that always seemed a little weird to me, too. The best explanation that I can think of is that in FFX, Yuna had a tendency to repress her true wants and desires. She was so willing to bring the Calm and hope to the people no matter what that there wasn't room in her life for anything she might have wanted for herself. It would only have weakened her resolve to give up her own life.
So then she can't be a summoner anymore. She doesn't have the obligation, but it had been such a large part of her identity that while the people around her had been living her lives, she had been playing a role. It left a big patch of blank slate, so when she started the whole "Tomb Raider" thing, it was in order to gain new experiences and excitement that she hadn't had in her old role and to find out who she really is.

Lol, that would be the reason why I never liked X2.
Well. That and the whole concert scene things, those made me sad to be alive and a FF fan. D;

You know, I never really considered that when I played that games, but it makes a lot of sense.Having her as a gunner I think was just an excuse to redesign her costume,heh. Great work, you've done an excellent job intertwining the two figures, and as far as the height difference goes, you do have to figure Rikku grew a little more since the last game.
