Japanese carps koi.It's really hard to draw on such textured paper, and it's more difficult that I took black paper. Anyway I really like the final result.))
Soft pastels and pastel pencils on black Fabriano pastel paper.

I love textured paper, I feel it holds better, something i do is when I'm drawing something lighter i make the whole base white and blend the hell out of it, then put more over, it usually iliminates the black dots.

I have recently started playing with pastel on some brown paper, so I feel your pain on working on dark paper! Absolutely great result though!
