My first attempt in drawing by charcoal. I started this drawing in 2011 and finished it already in 2012. This medium is new for me and I have a lot of problems working with it, I began to get used to it only in the end. But I like charcoal for its great contrast. I think the next time I'll take more smooth paper.Charcoal and charcoal pencils on Fabriano Accademia paper.

Yes it is a bit rougher than your usual pencil work, but that is to be expected with a new medium, especially charcoal. It stills shows your real skills in shading and using contrasting values to their best! Good work!

Thank you, dear!)) I found out, that it's difficult to make thin lines by charcoal, it's thick enough. And it was difficult to blend shading equally. And what about you? If I remember you told that you also started drawing by charcoal or not?))
