Description Chapter 3: Night Descends and the Beast Emerges

“Oh Mother!” Cicero called in his sing song voice. “Oh Mother! Cicero has brought you some pretty, pretty flowers. Oh yes just for you.”
The jester smiled and placed the bundle of flowers at the bottom of the Night Mother’s coffin. She stood, a desecrated corpse that only spoke to the one named the Listener.
“It has been a joyous day! Oh yes Mother. Cicero has been to Whiterun! The Listener and I were at the Sky-Forge. Cicero wanted some Sky-Forge steel, sharp, sharp for easy stabbing.”
The fool laughed as if the corpse before him understood everything he’d said.
“Cicero, be quiet!” Nazir shouted from another room.
“Nazir is right. Cicero should sleep now.”
The jester left his beloved mother and went into his own room to sleep.

Night had fallen and the Dark Brotherhood stood in silence. The jester awoke with a start and a terrible headache.
“Ouch, damnedest of headaches. How can Cicero cure this? Oh yes, Oh yes, blue mountain flower. Babette would not mind if Cicero took just one or two.” The jester remarked.
Cicero walked out into the sanctuary’s silence and into Babette’s room. Her alchemy bag lay on a small table. However the vampire girl wasn’t in the room so Cicero could take a few mountain flowers without hesitation. The jester put his gloved hand into the bag and found alchemy ingredients of all kinds but there were no blue mountain flowers, only red and purple flowers.
“Cicero must take a walk then.”

Cicero walked out of the sanctuary and began to walk mindlessly around the sanctuary and roads that surrounded it. The night was calm and clear, a perfect night for a walk. The moon was full and hung in the sky like a huge white marble.
“Ah this was one of Cicero’s good ideas. I feel much better.” The fool thought with a smile.

As he headed back towards the sanctuary he saw tongues of fire lick the rocks around the door.  Penitus Oculatus agents began to run inside and slaughter the brotherhood. Something stirred deep within the jester as he watched his home burn, something animalistic. The fool’s dark eyes angered and became amber as his face twisted into a fang laden snout. Claws ripped through the jester’s black gloves and paws burst through his boots. Pointed ears forced their way through his hat and fur covered muscles tore his shirt. A werewolf stood where the jester had. The red and black clothes clinging tightly to fur becoming ripped and strained. The werewolf howled into the night and charged towards it’s burning home.

The agents’ armour meant nothing to a werewolf. Its claws tore through with ease. The jester werewolf murdered anyone who came close to the coffin of the Night Mother.

All the agents were killed but the fire was taking its toll, the roof creaked and threatened to cave in. the werewolf sought shelter in one of the alcoves now in the walls whilst the Listener embraced the Night Mother as the roof caved in.

Nazir and Babette dug the coffin out and released the Listener. After some conversation the three went into a different room where a severely burnt Astrid lay uttering her final breaths. The werewolf slowly came out of the alcove. It was safe and now it could protect his Mother. The jester wolf guarded the coffin as if it were a rare and precious item.

Soon Nazir, Babette and Ja’Sasha returned to the room, shocked at what they found. No one dared speak; for fear that they would anger the savage beast. The wolf tilted its head as if it didn’t understand when it looked at the Listener.
“Cat, friend.” The wolf growled.
“Yes, cat friend.” Ja'Sasha replied cautiously.
“Girl, friend. Redguard, friend.”
The werewolf curled up at the foot of the Night Mother like a common house hold dog with its tail wagging slowly.
“What are we supposed to do with this beast?” Nazir questioned.
“Well it doesn’t want to hurt us; it seems as if we’re its friends.” Ja’Sasha replied.
“I suppose it could replace Lis.”
“Maybe.”
“We can’t stay in this ruin.”
“We can use the Dawnstar sanctuary.”
The remaining members of the Brotherhood left to find their new sanctuary.
