Description

Archiving of same-themed backgrounds, simple concepts.
Worldbuilding sketchy thing, worldbuilding information: Expansion of the universe & Towns projects [precesly left part].

Creatures in the universe live in big Houses, but it doesn’t mean that they didn’t try to create something else.

One of their problems is the expanding universe. Since this isn’t space/galaxy/vacuum/etc., this extension can be, to put it mildly, very noticeable. Does anyone remember my words about the “pushing out from the ground bones of the colossus ”? [Did I even write about this on Deviantart?] However, these aren’t necessarily undigested pieces of the first creatures. It may be the formation of a new patch of land. Or newborn source of local "petroleum"*[right second]. The space in which they live is impermanent.
Some Houses may also be tear apart by this phenomenon [right first], but usually, they are made sturdy enough to just be moved a certain distance from their original. And get only some of the damage. But it’s harder to make the heavier Houses “just move.” Great Houses [like 3rd House] don’t move, but the forest pushes the remaining locations away from them.

These processes are also one of the reasons why a person can get lost in the Forest, the Forest doesn’t have a map, and the creation of permanent transport routes between houses is rather doubtful.
+ also the reason for some cultural phenomenons like a love of birds, suspicious attitude to effigies, and etc. stuff a ton of it.

Towns project currently banned in several Houses due to the danger of fatal ending of this idea, in some other this project frozen, in less developed this project still may be practicing.
After such attempts, a lot of garbage remains. Not “ghost towns”, but “ghost huts”. Or parts of ‘em. Like table lonely lying in the Forest.
Hospital of Callicyanous , which Fido calls his residence is a type of this garbage. And it, because of its size, is still more-or-less- stabilized [y’know, Hospitals are huge] but because of its origin, not for forever - it has an awful state already.

*Well, in fact, I call this thing so only because of the base description: "Petroleum is a naturally occurring thing found in geological formations beneath the Earth's surface". This is actually not always oil or liquid in their world... as we can see. But these are really 'overcooked' remains of something extremely old.
Latin petra ‘rock’  + Latin oleum ‘oil’. This inspired me to make it like the rocks pushing out of grounds with a possibility to use and which have the oil, but inside of it/its parts. I would call this thing another way because of the differences in visual design ... But why for.
Btw the depicted design was inspired by a living cell. And of these petro-not-really-leum stuff holems are made [like robo-sphynx ].

ouuuh it's quite complex. So, it is difficult to repair his buildings there because of this kind of phenomenon, if I understood correctly.

“pushing out from the ground bones of the colossus ”? Uh, I remember you explaining that they had no stars, no moon and no sun and that their sources of light came from corpses of big creatures.

There are many conclusions to be drawn, including this one, aye~ This is just a general fact about the universe that is works for every story and bears different fruits
Yay! Cool, that someone remembers this. Sometimes I write text and I don't sure did I already told about it or not x)

a lot of villages(upper left)should be built like that, easier to maintain; here in Nebraska we have at least 500 of them.
