Anyway, this in fact is the song that inspired Jeweline int he first place. I listened to that song and was like: damn, this sums up the summer camp for water mages perfectly. And of course I immediately searched around for characters to who this song would fit. Brook didn't fit, because she, at that time, was no one who'd just take an innocent walk with someone. Then I thought that Jason would fit, since he was still fairly young and "innocent" (using that word to describe Jason is more than ironic :'D) back then. Though this song is about two people, so I needed a girl, preferably pretty, and so Jeweline came into being.

I could imagine these two just taking some relaxing walks in the evenings and talking about random stuff. Despite what you know from Jason, he and Jeweline had a very platonic kind of relationship. This was mostly due to Jeweline being demisexual and Jason being two years younger than her. In any case, those two were and still are super cute.

And before you all wonder about it: No, I did not forget Jason's scar, nor did I forget that he only has one earring and the other ripped out. This here just takes place before either of that happened. Also I wanted to draw them in their day forms, because that's how I imagined this picture to look like. The explanation behind it then is that they practice illusion spells and therefore "wear" their day appearance also after the sun set. This is how I justify my art! :'D

This time I tried to draw a background that features a sunset, but does not show everything else but the sky as a dark sillouette. I know that nature doesn't work that way, but I was bold enough to take an artist approach and I kinda like the result. It looks much more soft this way.
Also, I never really drew the sea or a beach, so this is a first I guess. Ironic as it may be, but I just do not like the sea. Like, at all. It's ironic because I love water, but yeah, keep the sea away from me.

I wanted to finish at least one drawing before this month ends and now I'm back to studying for my exam next week. c:
