I think you are over (i dunno what's it called in English) thingy abortion. In it's early stages aborting a fetus is just removing a bunch of cells. In the late stage however, yeah thne you are removing a baby

Amid the many already posted interpretations, I do suppose one could also say that this alludes back to 'women's suffrage' but through a much more morbid [though, very well illustrated to say the least ^^] depiction; the mother being 'choked' into a skeleton of herself, and the principles of her culture/and or, the skeleton merely being that representation of said culture, imposing her to bear the child [considering the infant doesn't look as if it has died...though I could be wrong O.o] just as the noose is; being that it is a combination of her guilt in considering such a thing, and the overall impossibility of her predicament.
Ehh, or perhaps i'm merely enveloped in my 'rambling chair', again Xd
All the same, I would just like to give my appreciation for the very lovely; controversial [isn't that the best kind? ^^] yet very elegant beauty of this depiction...very well done

this is easily one of the most stunning pieces I've seen in a long time. The emotion in the skull, the way the fetus curled into itself.... the way you deformed the pelvis to fit it. AH I love this I really do, I feel inspired now!

I love it. I saw it as: perhaps after pressure from freinds, family, or religious belief, the pregnant woman decided against abortion. Thus, perhaps she "died" not literally, but figuratively- I feel that the message is that everyone is entitled to thier own opinion, but they should never let thier own influence someone else with such a personal decision.
