Backstory:
Shortly after emerging, Onyx felt out of place with the others. Because of this, Onyx was mistaken as overcooked as he subconsciously shapeshifted according to how he felt at the time. During this time, he felt small and fell behind with the others despite being the tallest in the group at his regular height.
While being stationed at many different colonies, he was exposed to gender and self expression. At that time, he took a feminine appearance felt uncomfortable in his own skin. The transition began immediately after his first reformation.
After a rather grievous injury on the battle front, he also began "job searching" in order to find an area of expertise that not only suit his skills but further the diamond agenda. Onyx was unable to properly fight in the war due to his low constitution and if it were not for his prowess in intelligence, he would not have survived beyond the gem war.
Onyx has been poofed four times. Unlike other quartzes, it takes him several weeks to reform.
