Chapter 31: Atomic Stark

Last time on Kim Possible... Maxwell and the other teachers took the kids on a field trip out to sea. However the trip was cut short when the cruise boat was attacked by pirates but not modern day pirates no there guys seamed to be straight out of the history books or at least pirates of the Caribbean… Scurvin, the captain of the pirates had ordered his crew to take Maxwell because of a jewel he had found years before. However just before Scurvin could do away with the dojo owner Kin and his friends came to the rescue and thanks to the help of two mysterious cloaked figures the kids were able to defeat the pirates and save Maxwell! But who were the cloaked figures? Why did Scurvin want that jewel? What kind of magic does it hold? and is this the last of Scurvin or will he try to come after Maxwell again like Kin said? It's a lovely Wednesday morning in Middleton as a young boy slept peacefully in his bed until his alarm clock went off.

The boy is 6 years old but is small for his age meaning he looks to be at least 4 years old. He has light, honey-golden brown hair and chocolate brown eyes.

"Oh no! Not yet!..." The boy said sleepily and tried to turn off the alarm but couldn't find it. "Why!?..." He whined as he sat up and looked around the room to find the annoying alarm that seemed to be getting louder as it usually did on days like this where the boy didn't want to get up. "There you are you little pest... How did you get over there?" The boy asked as he got out of bed and walked over to his desk. "Shut up already!" He said turning the alarm off and started to take it back to his night stand but then stopped and turned back to the desk where he saw a bright gold present with a silver ribbon sitting under the light of his desk lamp. *"Is that really there?..."* The boy thought putting the alarm down and rubbed his eyes to be sure he wasn't seeing things and sure enough, the gift was really there. "No, it's real but what's it for because it's not my birthday and it's not Christmas..." He said and picked up the present. "Is it a bomb?...” The boy asked shaking the gift to hear if it would tick and sighed when he didn’t hear any ticking. *"Well that’s a relief!"* He thought and gave the present another shake.

"It's time to save the day!" Came a voice from inside the gift. "What!?" The boy asked and quickly opened the gift to reveal a superman action figure with 7 different catch fraises.

With a grin the boy took the action figure out of it's package and pressed a button on the top of it's head. "Greetings Superboy, I'm superman!" The toy said and the boy grinned then looked back at his desk and saw a sticky note attached to his desk lamp that read;...

"A super friend to help you have a super day. Love dad."

After reading the note, the boy grinned even more. "Thanks daddy!" He said then looked back at the toy.

"Hi! My name is Atomic Stark or Atom for short but you can just call me Tomi! I live here in my house with my mommy, daddy and 3 sisters, Scarlette, Skylar and Fiona. I have another sister named Nuka but she’s at a boring old stuck-up school for snobs... Oh and about my name, don't ask because I don't know why my mommy named me that but my uncle Ash says it's because my mommy likes things that explode! Which kinda makes sense because every time she even looks at something in our kitchen it either blows up or somehow spontaneously combusts into a roaring burst of flames! But I’ve never seen it happen, I only know it does happen because uncle Ash says so! He’s very smart you know. I do know my mommy’s not a very good chef because everybody says her food taste like it’s not fit for human consumption. That's why my daddy cooks. Anyway, because of my name, My sister Scarlette says I'm an adopted terrorist's kid and that's why my name is Atomic but I just say she’s a meanie! If sisters were monsters, she would be their queen! Oh! Did I mention that it took my parents a long time to name me? Because it did. My aunt Angela says my name is Atomic because when I was born, the doctors gave my mommy the good stuff... What ever that means. My daddy says it’s because my name was actually supposed to be just Atom because mommy wanted to name me Thomas but my daddy didn’t like that name and wanted to name me Adam however uncle Ash beet him to it when he named my cousin that so they stuck with Atom like the Atom bomb…" Tomi said excitedly to the toy but then thought for a moment.

"Well it’s also because my sister Fiona wanted to name me Atomic because whenever I’d laugh it would be an explosion of joy. But I think my name is Atomic because my mommy was once a secret agent spy from an alternate dimension sent to save our universe from an all powerful evil meanie out for multidimensional universal domination!... Yeah that's definitely it! My mommy is so cool! Anyway, I'm 6 years old but small for my age. I look like I’m 4 which get's me picked on a lot so I don’t have many friends... Daddy said I was born that way and that I took 3 months to come home from the hospital. He says I'm a miracle and my sister Skylar says it's because I'm a mutant but it's okay. I try not to listen to her because my other sister Fiona says she's intellectually impaired. Anyhoo! I like sweets, pizza and other fast food but I don't eat it 24/7 otherwise I'd be fat! Well anyway I gotta go, I'm supposed to be getting ready for school even though I don't wanna." He said and put the toy on his bed.

"Tomi dad says to get your idiotic but down stairs for breakfast right now!" Said a girl right outside Tomi's door.

"I'm coming!" Tomi said then quickly got ready. When he was all dressed up he looked at himself in the mirror to see if his outfit was okay. Once he was satisfied with his appearance he smiled but then sighed as he thought about the dreaded day ahead. “Well, here goes everything… I’m totally doomed!” Tomi said then went to his door but then went back to his bed, picked up the Superman action figure, and quickly went downstairs only to see a girl standing at the bottom of the steps glaring at him. "I see you got dad's stupid gift." She said bitterly. “Why dad wasted perfectly good shopping money on you is beyond me.” The girl said crossing her arms as Tomi glared at her.

The girl is 12 years old with brown eyes and honey-golden blonde hair.

“Superman, this is my sister Skylar, she’s the spawn of Lucy!” Tomi said and quickly ran past the girl as she tried to attack him. “Get back here you little freak!” Skylar yelled as she chased him into the kitchen. “Aahg! Dad help she’s gonna get me!” Tomi said running behind his father and hugged his leg.

Leon Stark is Tomi’s father. He looks to be around 45 years old with honey brown eyes and the same hair color as his daughter Skylar.

“Skylar stop chasing your brother.” Leon said as the girl ran into the kitchen. “But daddy! He started it!” She said angrily pointing to Tomi who just stuck his tongue out at her. “I don’t care who started it, I’m ending it.” Leon said as Tomi sat at the table next to another one of his sisters who just smiled at him.

This girl is 7 years old with dark brown hair and honey brown eyes like her father.

“Good morning Atom. Oh you got daddy’s gift! Do you like it?” She asked and Tomi nodded. “You know I asked Dad to get that for you because I know you’ve been having a hard time lately so hopefully this will help a little. I even reprogrammed it to call you Superboy.” She said with a smile as Tomi just stared at her. “Really!? So that’s why it said that?... Oh thank you Fiona!” He said and gave her a big hug as Skylar glared at them. “Daddy, how come I didn’t get something to help me with my school day?!” She wined causing Tomi and Fiona to roll their eyes. “Oh, don’t worry. You do get something Skylar!” Leon said as he put a stack of 3 pancakes on a plate. “Really!? What?!” The 12 year old asked excitedly. “Breakfast.” Her father said flatly and set the plate in front of her then gave Tomi and Fiona their plates as Skylar pouted. "Hmpf. Not fair!" She said angrily. "You know, jealousy makes you ugly- oops too late!" Fiona whispered with a laugh making Skylar glare even more at her. "Dad Fiona just called me ugly!" The 12 year old said and Leon looked at his 7 year old with an eyebrow raised. "Fiona, did you just call your sister ugly?" Leon asked and the young girl shook her head. "No daddy. I would never say something so mean." Fiona said with an innocent smile. "Skylar, just because you're upset doesn't mean you can make up lies about your little sister." The man said and Skylar glared. "But she did! It's not a lie, she called me ugly!" The 12 year old insisted but Fiona shook her head. "No I didn't, Scarlette did!" The dark haired girl said as another girl walked in.

The girl is a very pretty 16 year old with long dark brown hair and brown eyes.

“What!? I di-… okay yeah, it’s true. She’s ugly.” The teen said making Skylar glare at her too as she sat down. ”Scarlette be nice.” Leon said as he put a plate of pancakes in front of her. “Uchg! Daddy I can’t eat this! It’s way too fattening!” The girl said with a glare as Leon rolled his eyes. “Oh yeah, that’s right! I’m Soo very sorry! I forgot, my food isn’t good enough for you.” The man said sarcastically and took the plate as a woman walked in.

This is Emilyne Stark she looks to be around 44 years old with long dark brown hair and brown eyes like her daughter Scarlette.

“You know you could always eat mommy’s food.” Fiona suggested as Emilyne sat down. “Uchg! And get toxic food poisoning!? No thanks! I don’t think so, I’d rather starve to death thank you very much! Besides, I’ll just get a slice of grapefruit from the cafeteria at school.” Scarlette said with a glare as she crossed her arms but then saw her mother sitting next to her. “Uh. Hehe… no offense mom!” The 16 year old said as her siblings rolled their eyes. “Exactly what part of that sentence wasn’t offensive?” Emilyne asked with a small glare as Leon handed her the plate of pancakes that Scarlette didn’t want. “Don’t mind her Emi, she’s just feeling witchy today.” The man said as Tomi talked to his Superman action figure. “Superman, that’s my sister Scarlette. She’s the oldest of my siblings” The boy said gesturing to the 16 year old who just rolled her eyes with a glare. “Apparently you already know Fiona and my daddy. And you’ve also met my sister Skylar. She’s the second oldest and my sister Nuka, the one at snob school, she’s my twin! Oh and this is my mommy!” Tomi said as Skylar glared daggers at him. “Why did he get a new toy anyway!? It’s not fair!” She said angrily. “Because, he skipped 3 grades and it hasn’t been easy on him.” Leon said and Skylar huffed. “Um, daddy?... Do I really have to go to school today?” Tomi asked and Leon smiled. “Tomi, it’s only been 2 and a half weeks sense school started and you don’t want to start wasting school days now. Besides we already let you stay home for no reason yesterday.“ Leon said and Tomi lowered his head.

“Yeah which turned out to be a good thing considering what happened yesterday.” Skylar said and Tomi looked at her. “Sky hush. We don’t want him getting all worked up before we get him to school.” Leon said but it was too late, Tomi had already become concerned because of the comment. “Wait, what happened yesterday?” He asked as Skylar grinned and was about to say something but Leon interjected. “That’s enough. Now hurry up and eat, we’ll have to get going soon.” Leon said firmly and his kids nodded as they proceeded to eat their breakfast.

After his dad dropped him off, Tomi went to his locker to put his backpack up but then over heard some kids talking.

“I’m telling you man it’s true! That’s really what happened.” Said a kid who was on the marine life field trip. “And you’re serious about them starting a team of their own?” Asked the kid’s friend and the other kid nodded as Tomi looked at them. “Allen, what are you guys talking about?” He asked and the kids looked at him. “Chuck here, says they were attacked while on the field trip yesterday.” Allen said and Tomi raised an eyebrow. “What field trip?” The 6 year old asked and both boys rolled their eyes as Chuck repeated his story of what happened the day before and when he was done Tomi had stars in his eyes. “Really! And their from our school!” He asked and Chuck rolled his eyes again. “That’s what I said. You have Kin in your English class Why don’t you ask him yourself.” The kid said and Tomi nodded but then thought of something. “Wait, I don’t even know what this kid looks like!” He said and Allen grinned. “He’s got brown hair and normally wears a purple jacket over a light blue turtle neck with dark blue-ish-purple pants. Just look for the kid wearing that and you can’t miss him.” The kid said as he and Chuck walked away.

Later in English, Tomi looked around the room for the kid that Allen had described and grinned when he spotted him. *"Ok Tomi, you can do this just be cool…"* The 6 year old thought to himself as he walked over.

Kin was sitting in his desk talking to Stanley when Tomi walked up to him. “Um… E-E-excuse m-me….” The small boy said meekly and Kin turned to him. “Hi!” The young Stoppable said but then noticed Tomi’s size. “Uh…” Was all he could manage to say without sounding rude. Stanley noticed this and chuckled. “Kin, this is my neighbor Tomi. He just started the 4th grade at the beginning of the year. But don’t let his size full you, he may look like a preschooler but he’s actually 6 years old and a incredibly smart one at that.” The young Barkin said and Kin nodded. “Cool! Nice to meet you Tomi, I’m Kin Stoppable.” The brown haired boy said happily. “H-hi… …uh… m-may I ask you a question?....” Tomi asked timidly and Kin smiled. “You just did!” He joked and Tomi just stared at him in confusion making Kin frown slightly. “Uh that’s a joke…” He said as Tomi continued to stare at him although the 6 year old tried to smile as well but found himself too nervous to. “Oookaaay… Go ahead, ask your question. What’s up?” Kin said with a friendly smile hoping to ease some of Tomi’s nerves. “Uh…” The young Stark said nervously. *"What are you waiting for Atom, just ask him! He won’t bite, he’s just another kid, like you! Yeah that’s right a kid with a mommy and daddy… maybe some siblings too… and friends…a lot of friends… lots and lots of friends…. Heck, it’s obvious he’s pretty popular… impressing him could get you a lot of friends too! …just as long as you don’t blow it… "* The 6 year old thought as he started to panic. *"OH GOD! This was a really bad idea! Abort. Abort! ABORT. ABORT!"*

“Uh Tomi, you okay?...” Kin asked
as he gently put a hand on the small boy’s shoulder pulling him from his mental breakdown. “Huh!... What… oh yeah, I’m fine!” Tomi said quickly pulling himself together. “So what did you want to ask me?” Kin inquired with a smile and Tomi stared at the young Stoppable for a moment but then sighed and took a deep breath to prepare himself for the reason why he wanted to talk to the brown hair boy in the first place. “I- uh… that is… forgive me for asking this but… …uh… I-is it true?...” He asked and this time it was Kin's turn to just stare at him. “Is what true?” The 9 year old asked and Tomi gulped. “W-what everyone’s saying about yesterday’s field trip.” The small boy said and Kin nodded with a grin. “Yep, Sure is! Why don’t you join me and my friends during lunch and we’ll tell you the whole thing from our points of view.” The brown haired boy said and Tomi grinned. “Ok!” He said and went to his desk as the teacher walked in.

Oh and this is my mommy!” Tomi said as Skylar glared daggers at him. “Why did he get a new toy anyway!? It’s not fair!” She said angrily. “Because, he skipped 3 grades and it hasn’t been easy on him.” Leon said and Skylar huffed. “Um, daddy?... Do I really have to go to school today?” Tomi asked and Leon smiled. “Tomi, it’s only been 2 and a half weeks sense school started and you don’t want to start wasting school days now. Besides we already let you stay home for no reason yesterday.“ Leon said and Tomi lowered his head.

“Yeah which turned out to be a good thing considering what happened yesterday.” Skylar said and Tomi looked at her. “Sky hush. We don’t want him getting all worked up before we get him to school.” Leon said but it was too late, Tomi had already become concerned because of the comment. “Wait, what happened yesterday?” He asked as Skylar grinned and was about to say something but Leon interjected. “That’s enough. Now hurry up and eat, we’ll have to get going soon.” Leon said firmly and his kids nodded as they proceeded to eat their breakfast.

After his dad dropped him off, Tomi went to his locker to put his backpack up but then over heard some kids talking.

“I’m telling you man it’s true! That’s really what happened.” Said a kid who was on the marine life field trip. “And you’re serious about them starting a team of their own?” Asked the kid’s friend and the other kid nodded as Tomi looked at them. “Allen, what are you guys talking about?” He asked and the kids looked at him. “Chuck here, says they were attacked while on the field trip yesterday.” Allen said and Tomi raised an eyebrow. “What field trip?” The 6 year old asked and both boys rolled their eyes as Chuck repeated his story of what happened the day before and when he was done Tomi had stars in his eyes. “Really! And their from our school!” He asked and Chuck rolled his eyes again. “That’s what I said. You have Kin in your English class Why don’t you ask him yourself.” The kid said and Tomi nodded but then thought of something. “Wait, I don’t even know what this kid looks like!” He said and Allen grinned. “He’s got brown hair and normally wears a purple jacket over a light blue turtle neck with dark blue-ish-purple pants. Just look for the kid wearing that and you can’t miss him.” The kid said as he and Chuck walked away.

Later in English, Tomi looked around the room for the kid that Allen had described and grinned when he spotted him. *"Ok Tomi, you can do this just be cool…"* The 6 year old thought to himself as he walked over.

Kin was sitting in his desk talking to Stanley when Tomi walked up to him. “Um… E-E-excuse m-me….” The small boy said meekly and Kin turned to him. “Hi!” The young Stoppable said but then noticed Tomi’s size. “Uh…” Was all he could manage to say without sounding rude. Stanley noticed this and chuckled. “Kin, this is my neighbor Tomi. He just started the 4th grade at the beginning of the year. But don’t let his size full you, he may look like a preschooler but he’s actually 6 years old and a incredibly smart one at that.” The young Barkin said and Kin nodded. “Cool! Nice to meet you Tomi, I’m Kin Stoppable.” The brown haired boy said happily. “H-hi… …uh… m-may I ask you a question?....” Tomi asked timidly and Kin smiled. “You just did!” He joked and Tomi just stared at him in confusion making Kin frown slightly. “Uh that’s a joke…” He said as Tomi continued to stare at him although the 6 year old tried to smile as well but found himself too nervous to. “Oookaaay… Go ahead, ask your question. What’s up?” Kin said with a friendly smile hoping to ease some of Tomi’s nerves. “Uh…” The young Stark said nervously. *"What are you waiting for Atom, just ask him! He won’t bite, he’s just another kid, like you! Yeah that’s right a kid with a mommy and daddy… maybe some siblings too… and friends…a lot of friends… lots and lots of friends…. Heck, it’s obvious he’s pretty popular… impressing him could get you a lot of friends too! …just as long as you don’t blow it… "* The 6 year old thought as he started to panic. *"OH GOD! This was a really bad idea! Abort. Abort! ABORT. ABORT!"*

“Uh Tomi, you okay?...” Kin asked
as he gently put a hand on the small boy’s shoulder pulling him from his mental breakdown. “Huh!... What… oh yeah, I’m fine!” Tomi said quickly pulling himself together. “So what did you want to ask me?” Kin inquired with a smile and Tomi stared at the young Stoppable for a moment but then sighed and took a deep breath to prepare himself for the reason why he wanted to talk to the brown hair boy in the first place. “I- uh… that is… forgive me for asking this but… …uh… I-is it true?...” He asked and this time it was Kin's turn to just stare at him. “Is what true?” The 9 year old asked and Tomi gulped. “W-what everyone’s saying about yesterday’s field trip.” The small boy said and Kin nodded with a grin. “Yep, Sure is! Why don’t you join me and my friends during lunch and we’ll tell you the whole thing from our points of view.” The brown haired boy said and Tomi grinned. “Ok!” He said and went to his desk as the teacher walked in.
