Description
In 2024, Spotify will no longer be paying royalties to smaller artists (like me) whose tracks have less than 1,000 streams. Currently, that encompasses *all* of my music there, and 2/3 of the total music on the platform. Musicians are already severely undercut, and now they are punishing small creators and taking all the profit. I don't know what the solution is here. I wish we could follow suit the way the writers and actors made change by demanding rights and fair pay. It is more important now than ever before to support your local small musicians by purchasing their merchandise, CDs, vinyl, et cetera. I really enjoy their platform, so this is a shame. Fuck Spotify.
