My jaw was dropped for the entirety of the final scene of "the way home" story. Professor Turo who was appearing throughout the story encouraging the player to bring Miraidon back to its full strength. For the developers to purposefully keep the fact that the professor died a secret until the post game gave me chills. When the player first approaches Area Zero, professor Turo doesn't seem to be acting normally and as you stumble upon him it's revealed that the professor you've been speaking to the whole time was a machine. The battle sequence was amazing, "Please, Defeat me" gave me nothing but chills, and the MUSIC started the adrenaline rush! One of the best final battles in a Pokémon game that we've had in a very, very long time. Aside from all the bugs and performance issues, this was a great first try at true open world Pokemon game and it gives me so much hope for the future of the games! The choice to have AI Turo tower over the protagonists for the entire battle was intimidating and an excellent touch. The way AI Turo sends the Master Ball into the machine to capture a paradox pokémon then just casually drops the Master Balls from the Violet pillar, which all contain futuristic Pokemon never seen before, all gave this battle an excellent feeling of power.

If you examine the lab in the lighthouse you can see an empty picture frame and the picture that was removed can be found the Zero Lab where you first meet the professor's AI. The photo is pinned on a board, and depicts a young Arven with Maschiff showing he really did care about his son and wanted the best for him. In one of the books it states that the professor wanted their perfect world for Arven, he is the reason Turo attempted to make his dreams reality. He got so caught up in trying to make the perfect world for Arven that he never got to see him grow up, and lost his life in the process. Leaving Arven with unanswered questions and painful memories that he had to grow up with. The story of these games were truly something special and anyone with a heart can't help but feel bad for this fictional character. Amazingly well written, its been a while since we had a story this good come out of this series.
