Some ghosts and spirits take the forms found in the seasons, and sometimes they become the very embodiment of those seasons...

Name: Stingy Jack/ Samhain "Sammy"

  For many centuries, the Living Realm and Netherworld have been separated though an barrier, though there are gaps that either side can pass. But there only one night where the barrier was at its weakest: October 31st, also known as the Feast of Samhain, All Hallows Eve, or better known as Halloween.

  In the Dark Ages Ireland, the ancient druids and spirits have made an arrangement for this night: The druids and their descendants should respect the spirits of the dead with simple offerings and remember them, while the worst of these spirits stay in the Netherworld. The spirit Samhain was chosen to be stay behind to keep watch on humanity's end of the promise.

  Sometime later, Samhain was accompanied the wandering soul of Sting Jack. In life, Jack was a horrible cruel trickster that was made more infamous by tricking the Devil twice when he tried claiming his soul. The demon vowed to never claim his. He continued his evil deeds until he was put on trial and hanged for his crimes. Jack was denied access to the Netherworld and he's doomed to withered away to nothingness. The Devil, seeking retribution from his earlier shame, he places an ember from the abyss inside a turnip and gave it to Jack to not only as a medium, but also light his way as he wandered the world, forever, seeking a rest he would never find. Taking pity, a nearby spirit asked Jack if he like to follow him with his wandering. Jack begrudgingly agreed.

As the time changes, tradition evolves, and the two spirits changed with them. Samhain, now known as "Sammy" become the observers as he travels across the world every Halloween Night, to partake in the festivities and ensure the memory of the treaty is remembered. While Jack became the enforcer to punish those who ignore or defy the old traditions, although he sometimes punishes them more harshly than necessary.

This Ancient deal must be remembered or else something wicked this way comes...
