Description The best and biggest asylum chapel I have been to

Cane Hill chapel has been subject to alot of vandalism in the last 12 months the organ, plaques and ornate iron railings have gone but it is still the one that makes me gaze in awe

Love this, you can see all the colours of the tiles in the arches yet everything else is so.... um.... abandoned.Once had lots of splendor. Great shot.

Its a patients chapel in a former asylum. So when the hospital closed the chapel was abandoned too

Brave? or Stupid? Well proberbly both!

But the chance was there and I though 'ah, what the heck! I may not see it again'. What with all the work going on in the grounds

what sort of work are they doing in the grounds? i'm not even allowed on the footpath according to the guard who is more heavily built than oneself :s

Phrrrr, those guards really are up themselves arent they!

As far as I am aware and have been told the Public footpath is still a public footpath and if your on that they can do F - all. Although I have never met them or had to suffer their abuse!!

When I was there they just seemed to be ground clearing all the trees and shrubs that are against the outside of the fence. But I supose it's only a matter of time untill they start inside the fence

(wow that was a bit of a essay!)

Nice shot taken pointing towards the other end of the chapel. Most people (inc me) took shots of the altar.

That wheelchair looks perfect there The architecture in this place is just breathtaking and you've captured it well in this shot.

You are aiming to the dramatic out look, right? I like the view of it, but it doesn't look so dramatic after all. Ofcourse, the setting of the picture is speaking the shabbiness, but the lightning isn't the best possible. Eventhought the idea of wb-picture about this is pretty klichΓ©e idea, it would work better than colors (because it's have a good composition). Also adjusting the lightness, you could make it REALLY dramatic piece.

Not really looking for a dramatic outlook at all.

I wanted a totally natural shot as I really think that is all it needs and I wanted people to see what it was like for me in there.

But thanks for your comments, I will have a bit of time over christmas and I may just see what can be done
