Appearance: Haruna has waist-length, straight black hair which is usually held up in two twin buns on her head. However, she will sometimes let her hair down during the cooler months or leave her hair up in a messy bun on occasion. No matter what style her hair is in, she will have two bangs down each side of her head. Her hair is of average thickness.
Due to her heritage & ethnicity, Haruna possesses slanted eyes, a sharp nose and pale skin. At 168cm (5'5"), she is quite tall for her age, towering over some of the girls in her year at school. Her eyes are a cinnamon brown colour. She also wears rectangular glasses. She has a mole to the right of her mouth.
Haruna's usual outfit is a red tank top a black skirt that ends just above her knees, which socks that end just below her knees and grey flats. Her only accessory is a necklace with a teardrop-shaped blue pendant. The back is engraved with two initials ('H.A' & 'E.A') and a birthdate ('3/17/02')
Personality: Haruna is a naturally quiet and studious person. She does not speak up often during classroom discussions, only speaking when called upon. During conversations with friends, she will become more verbal & while talking about a topic that she is interested in, she will become more engaged and quite talkative about that topic. Haruna will often become very invested in a book, movie or TV show & will spend countless hours writing stories & reading stories about the characters.
Though she is quiet, this does not mean that she is introverted. While she does like her alone time every once in awhile, Haruna enjoys spending her spare time with friends. Most of her places to visit include parks, shops & surprisingly, parties, though she always prioritizes schoolwork over this. In her mind, a future is more important than a party.
Backstory: Haruna was born as the eldest child to Yuna & Yuto Amari, two members of a bloodline of vampires. However, unlike her parents and her younger twin brother Eisuke, Haruna was completely devoid of being a vampire at all. Shocked, the family didn't know what to do- after all, it was rare for a natural (a human able to see a supernatural's true form) to be born to supernaturals. They agreed to place the baby up for adoption, in order to let her try and live out a human life. The only thing they left for her was a necklace, engraved with the birthdate and initials of her & Eisuke
Haruna was adopted a year later by Tina & Dennis Jackal, two perfectly normal humans. As she began to grow older, Haruna began seeing stranger and weirder things on the streets- bursts of light around a woman, strangely sharp teeth inside a man's mouth... the list just grew and grew with each passing year.
Due to Dennis' job forcing him to travel around alot, the family would go with him, meaning that Haruna did not gain many friends or settle into new places for long. One day, Dennis revealed that their newest job offering would allow him to work for much longer, meaning that they would be residing for at least a year. Excited, Haruna was quite happy to finally have a semi-permanent residence.
But as soon as she crossed into the town, she began seeing weirder things much, much more often then beforehand. She continued to keep quiet about it, out of fear that she would be dealt with in ways she didn't want to imagine. Those strange people began giving her strange looks as well- some of curiosity, others of confusion. She brushed the looks off, since she tended to get them fro the unusual people, but she couldn't help feeling a little odd from them.
She quickly began school a few days later where she met Amy, a young woman her age who she became fast friends with. But it wasn't Amy that had all of Haruna's focus- it was the boy who looked like her, too similar to be a coincidence. By the time lunch rolled around, Haruna had been thinking about the boy and if she should approach him, when he walked up to her table, asking to speak with her. Agreeing, she let the boy lead her to a private area to speak.
But he soon began ating strangely, asking for her birthday, who her parents were, when she moved to town.. other questions like that. But it was when he noticed her necklace that he started panicking, asking where she had gotten it. She in turn began getting creeped out, but responded by saying that her biological mother has left it for her when she was a baby. Showing him the engravings, the two noticed that the engravings were of their initials (Haruna's being if she was never adopted) & their birthday, once again too similar to be a coincidence. That only left one option- they were siblings.
The two embraced, with the boy- Eisuke Amari- being especially happy. However, Haruna's strange visions came back, showing Eisuke with much paler skin, pointed ears, sharp teeth... and red eyes. Haruna broke out of their little celebration & asked why Eisuke had suddenly changed. To her surprise, Eisuke looked both shocked & worried. He explained that he was party of a supernatural race and that he was a vampire. He also stated that Haruna was probably a natural- a human able to see a supernatural's true form. Though she was quite shocked, Haruna quickly accepted this, and was then thrust into this sudden supernatural world
