Another long time grail plush checked off my wish list!I nabbed this guy off eBay recently. He was in pristine, NWOT condition, but had been stored in a box for some time and was a bit "smooshed". Additionally, he had surface stains that needed some tending to.... And I felt he was a bit overstuffed. So after a gentle wash, re-positioning of his wires, a careful less bulky re-stuff and needle sculpt (and some very careful airbrushing) I am the proud new owner of a BEAUTIFUL Miler husky! Can't wait to get photos of he and Nikita together.

he is adorable congrats on finally finding him!! I wish Douglas would reproduce this line of dogs, Snowden, Miller, Lohan, etc... they are probably just to pricy to keep in production.

I 100% agree with you there - I would love for them to resurrect some of their old designs. (Particularly Tahoe, of course!) I think that their new designs are based mostly on market research and popular trends, so even though there is a small group of us here wanting the oldies brought back, I am sure they have done a thourough market analysis and already determined what will sell well, and what won't. Such a bummer for us collectors!

I really can't tell you! Tahoe was only in production for a year, I believe.... So Douglas may have not made more than a few thousand of them. The average person has no clue what us few collectors are willing to pay for her, so their Tahoe's are probably stuffed away in closets or attics waiting to be hand-me-downs or taken to thrift stores. Since Douglas collectors are few and far between (unlike Steiff who everyone recognizes as valuable) there's a pretty slim chance that she will be picked up and re-sold on eBay. Tahoe and the Canadian Mist wolves do come up more often than Lohan - who was probably created more as a store display than a mass-produced plush. So there could be less than a thousand Lohan's in existence! Possibly only a few hundred. I have asked Douglas for more information on her but no reply, so I doubt they even know.
I was extremely lucky to find mine on eBay in the early 2000's but I honestly can't say I've seen one since. She's as elusive as Maggie Irish Setter!

That is so awesome that you saved a link to that Lohan wolf! What I think is even more interesting, is that she is the mirror image to the one I have, (that one faces right while mine faces left). I am surprised that I missed the auction, but I suppose that it makes sense with the timing because I renovated my last house in 2013 and was probably fairly distracted from collecting.
I tell yah what.... as soon as I get distracted, that's when all the good stuff comes up!

awww that's sad....I wish you could have gotten her. I probably would have if I knew how rare she was and her value. And yes I noticed that as well. I wondered why she was a mirrior image of yours? they must have made both I guess? I wish I could find her for sale. I think I would rather have one of the Candian mist wolves. plus they are more popular. I hope another candian one pops up this Christmas...if he does he's mine...lol.

I know I've never even seen Maggie. I do recall a time on ebay around 2013 where I think I saw a Lohan for sale for $350? At that time I dind't know what Lohan was so I never purchased her. But I can say I think I have seen one.
And If you are right about Tahoe geesh I probably have a good shot finding that at a thrift shop. Here in WV I'm on the border of Maryland and Virginia in the eastern panhandle. Hagerstown MD has alot alot of deceant thrift stores, antique shops, goodwills, and second hand places if you ever end up going there. My mom and I spend alot of time thrift shopping on days she's off.
I'm so glad you found Lohan!! That's so cool. Let me know if you ever come across another one!! I'd be so happy to have her in my collection.
