I sat on my windowsill watching the sky as I waited for the night. The sun was setting; deep, dark purple mixed into light blue which slowly faded into soft pink and finally turned into an orange that surrounded the falling sun. I still had a few hours before I would leave, so I imagined what we might do tonight. My mind led me from one daydream to another until I finally realized how dark it had gotten. I quickly glanced at the clock and read 9:48. Damn! I was late! Quickly, I put on my watch and closed my bedroom door quietly. Luckily, my parents had busy days filled with busy schedules, which left them tired when they came home. They always went to bed early. I quietly tiptoed through the kitchen and living room. Finally, after what seemed like 10 minutes of tiptoeing, I reached the door. When I checked my watch, it said 9:54. She was going to be furious when I got there. I quickly found my shoes, put them on and opened the door without making any sound. As soon as I got outside, I heard something rustling inside the house. I just stood there cringing without even trying to hide. After I waited for a couple of minutes I knew it would be safe to continue moving so I quietly shut the door. I started to run across my lawn and got to the sidewalk, from there, I sprinted toward the deli.
