Another snow doll, made with some of the white rabbit pelts my husband bought me years ago. I'm against killing animals for their fur, of course, but I'd rather make something nice with them than just stuff their fur in a box somewhere. This is, I figure, a good way to remember some nice little animals.Akitla is the Inuit word for "snow falling on water", one of the sixteen or so different words for different kinds of snow.

Ha! One of my cats would lay on the table while I was cutting fur, wait until he thought I wasn't paying attention and grab for it! I gave him a scrap to keep him away from my dolls.

heehee yep, that sounds like my cat, he likes to watch till he thinks I'm not looking then attempt to either steal or chew on whatever he was after.
My favorite is when I'm drawing and he either starts biting my pencil end or just flops down on whetever I'm drawing on

Somehow, "Broken" has a new meaning (and I take joy in the fact that you listen to the Gorillaz ^_^), what with the animal that once wore that fur. You're right, these are a memorial for the rabbit. I used to have a black rabbit pelt when I was younger that I used to pet and apologize to. Maybe if I find it I can do something similar with it. These are really cute, Lily.

Aw, that's a bittersweet story. I know, like... rabbit fur isn't good for anything other than covering rabbits, but as long as you have the fur, why not make something that someone else can hold? When I was sewing, my fingers were getting awfully sore without thimbles, and I would take breaks to just pet the fur and make my fingertips feel better.
