Excerpt from Vladivostok,Chapter Three,Utopia.
The song Yao sings is a Russian folksong called Red Plum Blossom(maybe?)Many chinese people keep the old memories of this song as part of their lives.^_^

I always insist that Ivan is Yao’s first love^_^
I really like these two guys together.

Agreed, even though I've seen a lot of RussiaXAnyone, I had always felt and believed that China is probably the one and the only he ever loved/loves so much! So far in manga for example, Yao is the only person Ivan never treated him poorly as he did with the Baltics for that matter.

But Belarus's love was a later mistake.

Belorussians were forced by fear to believe (under Stalin's rule) that they were all nobodies. That everything that they were good for was dying once you sent in a full life of labor for the cause. The Soviet cause, the Russian cause.

But ever since the Soviet Union crashed, the people who were so normalized to having a leader brainwashing them into place that they didn't know what to do with themselves.

The unemployment rate went up, big enterprises crashed and the low self esteem stayed strong. No self opinion. Craving a leader.

She's like the perfect wife in ancient times. Ready to be the perfect, hard working house wife.

But times have changed. She's grown desperate.

He hurt his sister and all the pain and neediness he inflicted upon her back-lashed.

She needs to find herself.

This being said, I don't think it's healthy for any country to 'desperately need' and 'I can't live without you ever' to another country.

.... Well at least, that's what I've put together from history but it's probably only half right.
