Descendent from an areal hunter Salt flie specie that survive the extinction of the Late ocean age, this enormous saltflie is the longest insect of the Soglands.
Their larvae are aquatic hunters, predating on small invertebrates and even on small fishes. The adults are areal predators, eating insects and changelings like osteoplumas and squiks.
Their only predators as adults are Tribatts and Pickbirds. Natural selection gives then the olive green colors so comoun to many animals of the Swamp.
These saltflies are a relief to many bigger animals, as they Love eating parasites.
The larvae can grow to 16cm long and the adult often has 14-15cm from the head to the edge of the abdomen.
