Yeah, among other things by annoying a typical high school teacher. You know, the kind of guy where you just KNOW he's a teacher... So for the best shots, you have to walk about 250m into the marshes. Which are protected of course. So when I came back, he gave me a "how dare you" stare. Well, I tried to stare back "Sir, if you watched closely, I followed a well visible sheep trail. And I stopped right in front of those tiny yellow signs marking the "protected bird's resting and breeding" area. Which are only readable from a pretty short distance. Apart from the fact that breeding season for local species is already over and migration season hasn't begun yet." Dunno if it worked but since he had a camera as well, at least I got the better photos.

Apart from the fact that the university degrees I hold happen to be in Marine Ecology which does include knowledge of related habitats like local sea shores... I already got some more confused looks earlier from people watching me picking those strange gnarled tiny plants - and stuffing them in my mouth. A typical and quite yummy salt marsh species whose taste (crossover between chives and pretzel sticks) I've been really looking forward to Oh well, tourists
