Thank you very much! And I guess it was a lot of text to read, but it explains why she closes her eyes - the feelers and leaves on her legs can sense her surroundings, giving her an awareness that is much more accurate than human eyes can see. It's based mostly on the idea proposed by David Icke that everything is just different vibrational frequencies. She can shift partly into another frequency so that the air is as thick as water, and so that her feelers and leaves can see better.

I see Good explanation! You are a visual person, so you should know that sometimes people, like myself (teehee) tend to skip reading a big long explanation. Great explanation though... and now that I know, it makes much more sence... in fact, I think it is rather cool. There were certain roads that I would bike down, and close my eyes. I don't know if that was such a good thing, but it is neat to think that we would have that much awareness, minus one of our senses... and I know that we could do it, but people get too used to what they have, and heaven forbid, it get taken away. David Icke is the shit... I havn't read anything by him in a long time though..

I should try to locate David Icke's books again. If you have a movie downloading tool, you should download his Matrix video - it's just him talking on a big stage at some university with huge slide show projections behind him, and it's very good. He touches on all the points. But who knows, you may have read all of what he's had to say already, hehe.
I've already bought Richard Dawkins' book "The God Delusion". It is very good.
After i wrote my thing about the Laephyn, and after you wrote this response i got to the end of the book where he was describing just that - the different ways different animals are given different narrow perspectives of the world to survive in it - how a bat's echo shrieks might be how the bat "sees" colour - maybe they process red in their brains as the echo of a rough surface, for example, and how dogs may smell in colour and all that. It was cool to read it then, too since i was like, "Hey, that's the kinda thing the Laephyn does!!"

Aw, thank you. Yah, she loves swim-flying and feeling the air on her body as she does it!

Why thank you, hehe. What fun are toes without a little blushing, right? Right!
Yah, tails are pretty awkward - especially when i complicate them up like the Laephyn's, haha. The trouble i have is just when the lines are drawn and squiggling back and forth around each other, making sure i am colouring he tail, and not the air!

Well, you still can! I'll be accepting entries until May 20th, but that's also when the voting ends. Any new entries that i receive i will call attention to in a new journal entry and ask if anyone wants to change their votes. So yah, there's still time!
And thank you very much, i'm happy that people like my Laephyns!

Wow, that is so awesome! Sea animals are just the fucking greatest, aren't they?
Now ... if i could figure out how to draw one of those things, i'm SURE a Laephyn would like to ride it ...

Really? I'd like to hear about your vampirism theory...
Farscape, Farscape ... i feel like i should know that ... there's a sexy plant?

Farscape is an old TV series about a runaway prison spaceship, with one wicked plant girl, the bright-blue-hued Zhaan, who is also a priest. There are other interesting characters, such as the ex-guard Aeryn, who can't sweat but is otherwise human; a 20th-century human pilot guy, a big alien warrior with a cool sword, a goth-looking thief girl and a little, squeaking alien who's a king. Remember now?
Our vampire theory is based on a nifty little microorganism which feeds on hemoglobin, but produces "leftover" chemicals which increase strength and regeneration ability, and at the second stage of infection, reengineers your DNA a little, giving you retractable, sharp teeth and claws, and altering your metabolism so you can't live without the little symbiotes anymore. Oh, and the microorganism species is highly allergic to sunlight, because on the planet it originates from, there is no UV radiation - at all, like, say, if our ozone layer was 20 times thicker. Pretty simple as it sounds, though my ex-gf has very detailed descriptions with illustrations and molecules and everything somewhere in her dorm room Well, we just wanted to explain vampires scientifically, leaving the mythical things out of question. Doctors and sci-fi fans are just like that
