Richard doesn't understand why Violett won't dress up to go out on a date with him? It's Valentines Day, after all.
Is it perhaps that his views on chivalry and gender roles (not to mention fashion sense) are based on stereotypes from a century ago? And that it's foolish of him to expect, nay, take for granted that Violett will live up to these just to accomodate him? Perhaps he shouldn't just assume that his tastes and likings are better than anyone elses and that whatever he decides is the optimal choice? Maybe, just maybe, Violett is a different person whose opinions should also be considered in a situation such as this?

... naaaaaaah, surely it's because she doesn't have a fancy dress to go with his clothes! Luckily, that is an easy fix (just don't ask how he knows which size Violett is). Now Violett will have no choice but to join him in a romantic outing at the park!

Coincidentally, some people later said they saw glimpses of a foxboy sneaking away from Violett's house, with half a dress sticking out of his mouth.
