Thank you for the critique and the favourite! I appreciate them <3
I understand what you mean about the green colour... I tried to keep the piece unified by adding blue to the green I used but it could still use a bit more blue.

How many pykiin do you have with the blue-and-brown colour scheme going on, miss? Haha <3
Oooh, out in the world? Sounds exciting! Keep trudging through, eventually you'll find that missing piece and things will click for you. Good luck with kicking the muse back into cooperation... they can be frustrating buggers when they decide to misbehave.
I've been doing great, got accepted to MIAD my dream college and raked together a good chunk of scholarship money for it, so that's spiffy. Still with Jy after two and a half years, I don't know how he can stand me but I'm sure he has his reasons <3 I'm out of a job, but am hunting, and hope to get a summer job at the nearby Christian camp where Jy worked last summer, it's an amazing place. In the meantime I'm still insanely busy with classes, projects, future plans, and the general hubbub of everyday life, but I manage to squeeze in some free time to spend tending to my online life. Not much, but some is better than none.

Okay let me try that again without html fail 8D
Wow. Wow wow wow and also wow. You've really outdone yourself here, Lin, this is breathtakingly beautiful. Your technique with watercolour is fantastic - the feather details on the peacocks are stunning and I absolutely love the textured feel of the orchids. I think maybe a darker, more detailed background, maybe a deep red to contrast the bright blue, would have worked better to frame the piece and make it a bit bolder, but other than that this is truly wonderful. I really think you've found your place in watercolours, they really compliment your style and you have a great technique with them :3

teehee
Thank you for the compliments <3 I agree that the blank background bothers me a bit, but there's no maroon in Ali's room so that wouldn't have worked very well... I kept waffling over ways to change the background and then just decided it was good as is. Not perfect, but good P:
I do feel like watercolours is starting to be my niche... I'll keep experimenting, of course, but I'm finally beginning to settle, something that I've always thought would be difficult. I'm kind of glad and surprised... it just feels completely natural, like I've fallen in step with myself.

Watercolours are great, they're so forgiving and there's -so- much you can do with them. Give 10 different people watercolours and they'll all produce something that looks completely different!

At least two of them will toss down their brushes screaming, though... I know so many people who just hate watercolours because they have a mind of their own, while I know plenty of others who use that fact to their benefit. Since I've been working with them ever since 5th grade, I have the unique advantage of being able to control them decently, and I'm slowly improving when it comes to giving them "free range," like I tried with the orchids. I'll have to post some of the little watercolour "sketches" I did earlier...
