Description Here is a closer look at the Mickey Mouse barrette.

***

A set of 1 3/4" wide altered art barrettes that I made for my friend (who is an awesome animator and huge Disney fan) as a wedding shower gift.

Tools/Equipment:
*1 dial/face from a Mickey or Minnie Mouse watch each
*2 brass-colour pocket watch centre wheels each
*2 silver-colour pocket watch ratchet wheels each (glued under the centre wheels)
*1 large faux centre wheel (the large silver gear glued behind Minnie)
*1 small length of silver chain each (from a broken necklace)
*2 small silver key charms each (I picked the cloverleaf ones because they look like upside-down Mickey heads)
*1 small gold wing charm each
*1 small barrette backing/base each
*5 jump loops each (for attaching charms/chains)
*metal glue (for attaching parts to barrette bases)
*jewellery wire (reinforcing attachment of parts to barrette bases)
*pliers (for manipulating wire and jump loops)

Thanks! This was my first try at making barrettes, so I'm excited that it worked. ^_^

Heehee, yeah. The "concept" part is easy enough...it's the "execution" portion that tends to remind me how fumble-fingered I really am. ^_~
