I think I mixed too much white clay in because she doesn't have enough transluscency for my taste.I don't like working with colors either but I think I like the way the colors came together.
My daughter made her crown for me.

I really like your sculptures. It's a beautiful story where a little girl creates paper dolls and sharpens a skill with your lovely sculptures and photos. Your art reminds me of Patrick Woodroffe.

I try to make things that aren't beautiful...but they always come out looking pretty. I just push a little here and poke a little there and after about 10 hours of that i have a face staring up at me.

I suppose I sculpt fast. I've been doing it a long time so it's become second nature. I started the face at around 5 pm and worked on it until 3 am. And that was just the head. After the face is right the rest of the doll just falls together.

Thank you! I think I fell away from focusing on the hands for a bit. They have always been a huge focus of mine. I see a great improvement in my satisfaction with my work now that I'm paying more attention to the hands again.

She made the crown a few days ago. I tried to build the doll and tailor the colors, costuming and pose around the crown
I will definitely tell her you liked it. It might encourage her to put her cell phone down and make more.
