Description
Something I made as a present.
Took me 6 hours including breaks. Material used: 7b pencil, 3b pencil and a 0.5 rotring mechanical pencil (hb)

Overall, it is a very nice and impressive piece of art. The detailed hairs, especially around the right ear and the snout look very realistic. The shape of the head and the ears are very good and the shading of the fur markings look very realistic too, although you could work out the blending even more above the eyes and on the neck.
Yet some hints for improvement: The lower jar is a bit too dominant in my opinion, making the whole snout part rather heavily built and not as trim and elegant as a wolfs one could be.
I also suggest to intensify the shadows in the eye socket and below, around the throat and the neck to give it even more structure and three-dimensionality. Also blacken the slim lines directly around the eye, where canines have no fur and the lens itself to keep it from looking too "dreamy" (I can't find another word for it e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
Concluding, I have to say that I really like your Gray Wolf. Comparing your deviation with my attempts of drawing wolfs or hounds, I have to admit that you are far ahead of me. I hope you accept my critique nevertheless.

You put a lot of Detail in this piece of Work and it looks great I like how the eyes are Very Shiny and it gives that Sense of realism it also gives It alot of emotion I also like Seeing the Small hairs on the edge of it chin the wolf is a bueatful animal and You portrayed It excellently with detail the only problem I Saw Was closer to the neck Area try making the hairs look More Connected to the neck

Wow man, looks great. Awesome work on the fur texture and I like how you made the fur appear thicker/thinner in some places than others. One thing that bugs me though, is the eyes. In eyes, glare is like lens flare in a movie; it's flashy and looks good, but you can't overdo it. Everything else is perfect IMO.
