Description

The Gerudo from my Zelda AU.
Upon learning of the presence of the sheikah in the desert, the King and his guard journeyed through the sands to meet the shadow people, not knowing what to expect. After Ganondorf took over Hyrule, the Gerudo disappeared from the map for two reasons: first, their King had betrayed them and everything they stood for; second, the world wanted them dead. The poes were usually enough to keep outsiders at bay, but their bond to the sheikah (who hadn’t seen one in decades) lead them to inform the king.
Link was raised just like any other gerudo, he slept, studied and trained with his sisters until the age of ten, moment when his royal instruction began and he got separate sleeping quarters.
Since she was a child, Nabooru proved to be the strongest warrior of her generation and was considered candidate for Queen. She was fifteen when Link was born and her destiny changed, going from queen to General, and the regent’s right-hand.
Urbosa liked to help the mothers in the nursery, so when Link was born she took a liking to him (at first because of how loud he was) and always found a way to spend time with him, despite their eight year difference. Because of the bond they shared, and her abilities, the elders picked her to be his personal guard. At the age of fourteen she started her training under Nabooru’s wing.

That’s it for now. Their designs took a while, especially when it came to colors. I love how bright their outfits are in BotW but they didn’t really work for me considering how dark the whole thing is in this AU. I will play more with their everyday outfits, that’s for sure! Also, I wanted to keep some of the Voe vibe in Link’s armor, hence why it’s more pretty than functional (also it doesn’t really make much sense to cover him from head to toe, just to have the girls in tops and skirts).

This AU is just a bunch of concept pieces I’m putting together, it’s not a written thing. There was a plot bunny running around and Im playing with it. If this inspires anyone in any way, please feel free to write or draw whatever comes to your mind, just remember to link back to my AU so others may find it as well
