She needs time to adjust after moving from one country to another, which has also caused her to be held back a year, behind the other seventeen-year-olds.
Keeping her busy is her mother, Audrey Bourgeois, who she agreed to work with on the condition that she was allowed to take on a part-time job elsewhere. Audrey agreed - through gritted teeth, anyway - and Zoé found her own independence in this new city through meeting lots of people and making friends, finding a certain spark and joy that she didn't know she had.”
