Description I'm so sick of seeing every female character bashed for absolutely no reason beyond the fact that she has two X chromosomes and gets in the way of a popular yaoi couple! Odds are that by the end of the series, Sakura will be with Naruto, Kairi will be with Sora, and you can all just leave Misa alone - Light blatantly stated he never liked women in general, so just let her be happy already!

That is all.

Please fav if you're going to use it in your journal!

I mostly have the issue with Kiari because for more then half of the general story of the series, she is useless and she's used as a plot device for both Sora and Riku to fight for. I honestly have female character portrayed this way.Β

I can at least say I like Sakura and to a point, I even like Misa for her flaws. There are very few female characters I like because they're just not well written.

I agree with your stamp, even though I find myself doing the same thing sometimes. I don't do it on purpose, but I despise Larxene from KH because she's runner-up if Akuroku doesn't exist BLEH.

She's also not nice, so, there's that.

Thank you SO much for this! I'm so annoyed with people hating on Sakura, especially when their reasons MAKE NO SENSE.
A couple of examples of reasons that make no sense:

She's a slut: She only loves ONE person. How is she a slut? So, she fangirlED (past tense!) Sasuke, a lot of you do too.

She's a crybaby: I'm pretty sure that if one of your closest people left you, you'd be crying too.

She's a bitch: That was when she was TWELVE, and a KID. Now she's a teen, and doesn't act like that anymore.

Gosh, people are so irritating with their hate nowadays. Honestly, NOBODY cares if you dislike a character, I like that character. Stop trying to start an arguement.

I like Misa and Sakura(mostly Sakura cuz I haven't watched DN XD)
Seriously at the begining I didn't know why I liked her so much part of her was like a totally-happy-little-fangirl, which I am normally against(ex. Lou Fa from D. Gray-man(HOW IS IT THAT SHE HAS LESS HATERS THAT LENALEE!))(well, back when I started watching Naruto it was cuz those types of people seemed...STUPID to me), but when the story continued I knew why: Sakura and have almost the exact same faith:
1. Sakura has a big forehead and is usually teased because of it
I also have a big forehead, though they don't tease me about it XD (well...once, but I didn't mind it)
2. Sakura's the smart one of the group, who doesn't consentrate on fighting too much
Same with me and that's what they usually tease me about.....I still wonder if they're babies or do they just want to go back to 4th grade.
3. Sakura got her popularity cuz of an already-very-popular-amost most-people girl and then that same girl became her rival, but a few years after that everything calmed down.
There was this girl, Gabriella, in my class when I was in 1st grade, she was my best friend back then, after that in 2nd to 4th grade we were totally frenemies(and rivals for who-is-the-smartest), and when we were in 5th grade(in separate schools) we met and it was almost like NOTHING happened(though she was always like that XD).
4. Sakura got wiser time after time
When I was little, I was like a DISASTER! XD AHMA TELLIN' YOU! I was like this crazy-artistic-boyish little girl who didn't mind anything(much like the way Sakura doesn't control herself around Sasuke), after a very-big-lifechanging thing happened in my life I grew up and got emotional, serious, but pretty smart.
5. Sakura's desire to be with Sasuke = my personal big dream/desire in life.
Now, whenever I see a Sakura hater I just want ta PUNCH em'!, but I can't because I would break my precious laptop XD.

really true...
sadly I don't have many fem. chars that I don't dislike....
......
okay.. there are some I love..
Misa (C'mon! She is friggin cute *_*)
Aeris
Tifa
Kagome
Hinata (even if she is kind of annoying at times, she is still cute :3 and strong o.o)
Konan (She know how to handle an organization full of guys XD)
NaminΓ© (-hugs her- I feel sad for her... she seemed to like Repliku and he died >o>)
so much about that...

I simple don't like female characters when they are useless in my eyes.
or .. their attidute ( or h/e it's spelled) is pissing me off.
Kairi for example. I liked her better in KH2. 'cause at first she was like :" Sora!! I love you soooo much! Never leave me!! Leave Riku behind!!" I was pissed at that and almost killed my PS2, but in KH2 she was more badass like "Riku! Don't you dare to run away again!"
(Yeah, I'm a Riku-fan >>) and yeah.. I'm rambling...
So to get my point across :
I don't get why some people hate femals characters that much and if you don't like some, then at least you should have a good reason.

True, true *nods*

I'm sad about that too. I'm a yaoi fangirl as well, but I'm beginning to be afraid to call myself that, as it somehow along the line started to mean 'homosexuality is the only right way to ship any fandom and all women should die'.

I happen to like quite a few female characters, even though it's true that in so many sad instances, they appear badly or shallowly written. It's annoying how every female character gets called a 'b*tch' just because she BREATHES next to some guy a fangirl wants to see with another male.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

TrainxEve-Fan [2011-04-24 22:05:51 +0000 UTC]

Not every female characters can be a super-awesome-badass-fighting-killer. And any character that isn't a super-awesome-badass-fighting-killer is not immediately usless or a bad character. Kairi's a perfect example of that. Sure, she gets in the way sometimes, and she's not a huge fighter, but she cares about her friends and just wants to do what's best for them.
...Also, the minute she got a Keyblade and was shown to be pretty damn good with it, people freaked out too. First it was "RAWR SHE NEVER FIGHTS GOD" and then it was "RAWR WHY IS SHE FIGHTING GOD." She's damned if she's badass, and she's damned if she isn't! xD

I kind of have to disagree with this stamp and feel it's a bit hypocritical. I mean, Sakura, yes, had an anger issue for the whole series, but this anger only goes toward Naruto and seems to be moreover comic relief. At the beginning of the series it was pretty bad but each and every character had something childish about them that they needed to get past and mature properly. Anger happened to be hers. Kairi did her best to try and help at some points but it did in fact backfire on her, she was more of an emotional strong point for other characters, a goal, meaning she had some use. And Misa I saw of more as like a girl in my Chemistry class, smart but needing to look stupid to be cute. Her method of being the second Kira was pretty good at first with planning everything and then having the other girl record and send everything, but in the end her hair got in the tape. Not a smart move there Misa, but you tried.
And a lot of people disagree with the NaruSaku coupling.
Though, hating a character for your OTP. That's just plain dumb.
I knew a girl who hated all female characters from series cause she wanted the guys.
Seriously. Imaginary men. They don't exist girly.

I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say here. I don't dislike any of those three characters - in fact, I love them and have even cosplayed two of them. What I was trying to say was that, if you are going to hate a character, then you should have a good reason. I'm sorry if that was not properly conveyed to you.

Roxiya [2010-12-21 04:17:08 +0000 UTC]

I dislike Sakura, but I don't think she deserves all the hate. I think Sasuke is a bigger bitch than Sakura herself. I actually like Kiari, I think she's adorable. And I have no opinion about Misa. I don't think she's cute, but, I don't hate her or anything; Just neutral. I really hate those misogynist yaoi fangirls... *facepalm*

Outside that, I like your stamp. It's straight torwards the point.

As I've said in many comments, these are not my opinions, but merely examples of what could be considered a valid reason to dislike a character - as opposed to just saying, "She sucks 'cause she's female," which is just dumb. But personally, I love all three of these girls

Boy do I know it! I was trying to have a Harry Potter discussion and mentioned that Harry and Ginny didn't have as much chemistry with each other as they did with other characters and the people I was talking to burst out into "OMG HARRYXDRACOXRONXDUMBLEDORE MY OTP!!!one" and I was left sitting there like O.O "All I wanted to say was that Ginny is trying to fill the hole Tom left in her life with the closest thing she could get; Harry." Which, of course, resulted in, "WHO CARES ABOUT GINNY?!" *facepalm*

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Eve-Francesca In reply to LingLKS [2010-12-20 19:39:13 +0000 UTC]

I take it that you're not a Harry/Ginny fan. Interesting. I find your reason fascinating and I definitely have an opposing argument (since I'm pro Harry/Ginny and have been for years), but you're probably not interested in reading my perspective. Could you elaborate more on yours?

Anyway, I find it annoying that a lot of anti-Ginny folks call her a Mary-Sue just because she ends up with Harry toward the end of the series. The girl has flaws, after all.

It's really coincidental that you even brought up Harry/Ginny in the first place. I've been discussing this couple with quite a few deviants recently, and I've been the one to initiate the conversation. In this instance, I wasn't the one to bring it up.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LingLKS In reply to Eve-Francesca [2010-12-21 20:38:43 +0000 UTC]

Oh, but I love intellectual conversations, so please do share your thoughts with me! I've actually yet to hear an argument for the couple, so I'd love some perspective!

My thoughts on Ginny are that she was dating Tom's diary. There's danger and intrigue in the secrecy of it. The 5th movie actually gives a tiny hint that she might be more apt at the dark arts; when she tries to cast reducto, the thing blows up as opposed to shrinking, which insinuates that she's aiming to break it into tiny pieces more than make it one tiny object. I attribute this to Tom's influence over her. Now, obviously she would never go for Voldemort, because that's just wrong on so many levels; however, if she is attracted to one horcrux, then it is plausible that she might, unconsciously, find herself attracted to another horcrux: Harry.

As for Harry, I honestly attribute his relationship with Ginny as confused and hormone driven. He never knew what familial love felt like until he was taken in by the Weasley family. This gives hima predisposition towards both caring for Ginny and feeling the need to protect her, as she is first introduced as someone to save in the Chamber of Secrets. So when puberty hits Harry, who should he direct it towards? Cho is a bit of a bitch, Luna is beyond comprehension and Hermione can take care of herself. Ginny is the only girl he knows that he's close enough to trust, but can also fulfill his desire to protect.

Admittedly, I have a penchant for Harry/Draco, but I look at it a bit more realistically. Draco is the first person in the wizarding world to talk to him without going, "OMG YOU'RE FAMOUS!" when they're at the robe fitting. However, this is not firm standing for a real relationship. Draco hesitates several times when he is faced with bringing harm towards Harry. I personally see a one-sided crush in this. If Draco had been able to swallow the pureblood pride that was beaten into him, I think things could have been different. But that's just me :3

Haha, this is getting long! I'll stop here so you can respond before I keep going right off the tracks

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Eve-Francesca In reply to LingLKS [2010-12-22 01:15:23 +0000 UTC]

I love intellectual conversations as well... especially analytical ones about fiction. I'm a fiction lover and a writer. You have yet to hear an argument for the couple? Wow. I guess you're used to conversing with people who are rather biased. But, I suppose I'm biased too. (Hell, I KNOW I'm biased! )

Before I elaborate on your thoughts and express mine, I'm curious to know if you've read the "Harry Potter" series. You referred to a scene in the fifth "Harry Potter" film to support your argument. When it comes to Harry/Ginny, I'm used to referring to the "Harry Potter" canon or the books for evidence, not the films. I personally don't consider the films canon, nor do I consider them a basis for any argument unless one is picking apart the films and comparing them to their source of origin. But that's my opinion on the matter. Yours may differ, and some people view the films as another form of canon.

Your analysis of Ginny's reducto spell in the fifth film is interesting. If we're considering that the films are another form of canon, I can see why you think she has a trace of darkness in her personality. I feel that we all possess a bit of darkness. It's part of human nature and all of our personalities. This instills a sense of balance. We've also seen this same trait in Harry when he becomes angry and blows up at Ron and Hermione during "Order of the Phoenix" (the book, not the film). Anyway, your theory about Ginny's attraction to Harry because he is a Horcrux is really fascinating. I never stopped to look at H/G from that perspective. My point of view is much simpler.

Your thoughts on why Harry is attracted to Ginny makes sense as well. I think his attraction to Ginny was hormone driven and it had a basis, but I don't think it was confused. The build up to their relationship was present in the books. It was just incredibly subtle and a lot of people didn't see it coming because they weren't analyzing subtleties and the finer points of J.K. Rowling's writing. They wanted something that was obvious and spelled out for them... something that would smack them over the head the same way that say, the build up to Ron and Hermione's relationship did. I venture to say that these readers are rather spoiled and want things (like fictional relationships) presented to them on a silver platter. They don't want to have to work or "dig" for the romance.

But, of course, I'm a writer, and I don't think it's my job to spoil my readers. As an analyst, I prefer to be subtle and make my readers "work" and "dig" for different nuances and concepts in my writing. Most people don't think in the same manner that I do, but I like being an individual.

Now I'm the one who's guilty of writing a novel. I'm going to write my argument for H/G in another comment, so as not to frighten you.

I don't understand why people hate female characters. Truth be told I didn't like Kairi because I thought they could have made her character more interesting, but the other girls in Kingdom Hearts (like Namine and olette) I think are well thought about. And I think that people don't like Sakura because she gets in the way of SasuNaru, but obviously the creator is not going to make that happen...

Good stamp.
