The Forbidden Forest

You have arrived at the gates of the Forbidden forest. Not knowing what kind of evil lurks inside, you read the sign placed beside the row of iron bars. ‘Forbidden forest. Enter at own risk.’ It says. Driven by curiosity, you slowly open the gate. It creaks loudly as you push it open. When it is opened far enough, you enter…
A normal-looking forest is what you see, with a small path leading you further inside. You follow the path. All you hear is the crunching of leaves as you walk. There are no birds singing their song, nor can you hear the wind blowing through the tree tops. You start to walk faster, sensing there is something wrong about this place…
Suddenly, something catches your eye. A lone toadstool sprouting in the middle of the path. You look at it for a few moments and then go out of it’s way to avoid it. When you have passed, you look one last time at the mysterious mushroom. And then you see, you’re not the only one who’s looking… The little toadstool has grown itself a pair of eyes. Frightened, you take a few steps back. But actually, the mushroom isn’t doing anything bad. It just stands there, staring. It even starts to look kind of cute. Slowly, you walk a bit closer to the new type of fungus. You kneel down and take a closer look at it. It is the only sign of life you’ve seen so far in this forest, and even though it’s not the type of life you’re used to see, it somehow puts your mind at ease. You reach your hand out to it and touch it. Nothing happens. You pull your hand back, but then feel it’s impossible. Slowly, the slime of the fungus starts curling around your hand. Once again you try to pull it away, but that only causes the mushroom to break free from the earth. Its eyes turn red and high-pitched laughter comes from its inside. With the mushroom still stuck on your arm, you run deeper to the forest, screaming. From all sides you hear whispers calling for silence, but you can’t stop screaming as long as the slime keeps climbing higher up your arm. After some time, you are tired of running and stop for a moment. The slime has almost reached your shoulder now. Suddenly, you hear leaves crunching behind you. You turn around and see a hand crawling towards you. Immediately, you turn around again and run away as fast as you can. But after a few meters you see another hand is already crawling in your direction. You turn to the left, only to bump into a third hand. You turn around once again, to see you are surrounded by a circle of hands, no way left to escape…

I actually started drawing this a looong time ago, but only finished it today...
It's the Forbidden Forest of my story. First I wanted to draw the other six important places as well, but I don't think I'll do it anymore.
