I used to read stuff about this little game game called "Shantae" for GBC system. Not That I was really thrilled about it or anything since the Gameboy color era and my childhood passed by with without knowing about it.
But believe me when I say, this game was EXTREMELY overlooked. I recently decided to play it and I had tons of fun with it.
Zelda/metroid adventure style, lots of places to explore, and a lovely dancing Genie. What can't I love about it

The first time I played GBC Shantae I had to use and emulator, but not every emulator worked with that particular game.
As soon as a legit digital version was available on the 3DS I Purchased a copy

Yeah, that one is my favorite in the series so far, but I still need to dedicate some more time to 1/2 genie hero to make a final opinion.

I like half genie hero. Graphically obviously. But the story and the style way best in Pirates Curse

If you like metroid, you should try Pirate's curse.
If you're more adept to platformers you should start with 1/2 genie Hero, it's available in almost every platform.

Cool! I would recommend a guide for the fireflies though, they only appear at night at specific locations.

I wouldn't even bother to look em up without a guide. You might miss the spot only because is not the right daytime.

Indeed. This game is awesome, it almost feels like a NES Shantae game, It feels above of what an standard gameboy color game could offer at the time.
It's a shame I won't be able to play 1/2 Hero sooner

yeah, I made this artwork inspired by my first time playing this game, I love gameboy color games But I never figured I could enjoy one of his games way before his life cycle, that got me hyped with a child wonder type of rush
