Dr. Janice Emerald was Andrew Mauer's old friendly rival from high school, who works as a scientist of P.H.O.E.N.I.X. She specializes not only in technology, chemistry, but also in genetic and toxicology. She's somehow snarky, smart-mouthed and ambitious, but she has a good intention to Eddy and Crystal Team as she make the gadgets, weapons and various devices for the team, also she can make the serums and antidotes. She doesn't like be rushed by others as she carefully does the projects, which takes a time and sometimes she arguing with Prof. Mauer but after a while they reconcile and allows for help from him. She has heard of Eddy and the Crystal Team and their battles as she soon grew interested in them and started creating new devices and weapons for them in hopes of stopping Templars.
