SOI finally got everything I need to start using my brand new Graphics tablet!
This is a little doodle I did last night whilst trying to get the hang of it. It looks painfully unprofessional, but I thought I'd go ahead and post it anyway. There will be more to come... *rubs hands together* >:.D

My dad is considering on buying me a Huion but I'm a little concerned about the price and how it works.
What is your overview for the tablet?
What are the pros and cons of it.
I know it progresses slowly, that's 1 con.

Well, I'm not the best person to ask as I'm really not techy-savvy at all. I asked my big brother to help me pick the best one for what I wanted. BUT, I can give you a bit of advice, just don't take it as too definite. 
I would recommend you get with with a display screen. I got one for about $30 that was the size of a mousepad. It worked very well and I enjoyed using it, but it just didn't work for me. I had already trained my hands to draw with a mouse, and the tablet I got would have required a similar amount of training to use it effectively, so it just wasn't worth the 30 for me. If, however, you don't think that would be a problem, you can get a real nice tablet for $30. Here's a link: www.amazon.com/Huion-Graphics-… It's pretty small, 7" x 4.5"
Here's a really nice one for $50, it has the same pressure sensitivity as the one I have, it's got hot-keys, (buttons that do things like undo and redo and switching colors, etc.) and it's also bigger- 11.5" x 7". Here's it's link: www.amazon.com/Huion-Inspiroy-…
It looks as though, as soon as you go up into display screens they get into the hundreds.

You could try going with a different brand that might be cheaper, but that's where my tablet knowledge ends.

Looks awesome! I'm personally not adjusted to my own tablet yet, so I can feel your pain. Isn't it weird to look at the computer screen while you're drawing? Lol

Digital takes practice, and honestly overtime I can see you getting better and better. I love traditional style more than digital, but I think digital is nice to see and you did a very nice doodle here!

Thanks! I have been noticing an improvement to my art since I started seriously drawing people back in June; it makes me very happy.
I do like traditional, the feel of the blank paper and all you choices of color- endless possibilities lying in front of you... but I do also enjoy the crisp cleanness of the digital art, and the freedom one has from making mistakes. I don't think I'll ever stop working traditionally, but I'm also excited to see where I'll be able to get with digital art.

I do now! My brother went on to download the rest of the computer game he got for Christmas, and found that a game we had all played as kids was on the winter sale for $1.30, so I made an account and bought it so I can play it whenever I find the time. :3

Thank you. My main problem was trying to get the hang of the pressure sensitivity. While it is a lot like drawing on paper, it still took a little stretch of the hand eye coordination.

Curious. What kind of tablet do you have? Do you have the windows app still on? There was some app that came with my laptop that activated when I activated the tablet, it was supposed to make the pen work better, but it just turned off the pressure sensitivity. That might be it?

I have a Wacom Bamboo tablet! I think it probably has sensitivity, but it's two years old or something and I haven't fixed it if it does have it. Yeah, that might be it.
