I actually had to do it the other way round, I was obsessed with ElfQuest when I was a 13 year old and made up my own elves and drew nothing else, and later on (before I knew anything about anatomy) when I wanted to draw normal human beings I never understood why they looked so small and child-like

Same happened to me, to be honest. And when I was little I even joined a holt, a place where other people played their own characters. Lots and lots of fun.
