Description
My aim was to create a a picture showing Spock taking a moment to watch the women he loves as she sleeps. Perhaps they are on different shifts and he has just come in, maybe he is rising to leave and thinks it illogical to disturb her rest to say goodbye...I am using digital painting more and more, moving away from straight photo manipulations; its a steep learning curve. I'd love to hear your comments. Did I do the subject matter justice? Does the picture convey a sense of their connection?
Like most artist seeing the work of others inspires me.The reference pics that kick started my inspiration are below. Many thanks to those creative souls who spent their time and effort to post stock and reference pics to inspire others.

Dr. Holland from fanfiction.net here... pretty sure this is my favorite S/H fanart of all. I keep returning to it as I read fics. Since he needs less sleep than she does, I can see them in this pose many nights. *headcanon accepted*

i think that you did a beautiful job on this. her arm looks a little thin but otherwise i think it captures the moment and subject matter perfectly. spock looks like he's is really admiring her. he has a look of tenderness.

This is so beautiful. It's just incredible how tender and sexy this fanart is, there is a story in it. His love is so obvious and yet the hidden nature of the gesture done when she's sleeping and only in the privacy of their room.
