Commission design and drawing/coloring done by *xXMioXx .xXMioXx did an excellent job designing and realizing the design and style of the ponies from the fanfic story I'm writing in the My Little Pony universe. Featured in this drawing are the two main domains that defend the Realm. The Realm itself lies in a far away and remote part of Equestria; the ponies there are charged with protecting Equestria from threats external to Princess Celestia's lands.
On the left is a pony knight of the Knight Order of Canterbury Castle. Canterbury knights are known for their superior endurance and resilience, making them the perfect defenders and protectors of the Realm. Additionally, they follow the Tenants of the Knight Order, which means that they follow in the hoofsteps of fairy tale knights - rescuing damsels in distress, defending the weak, and confronting injustice. Their domain's heraldry is that of a white knight chess piece sitting inside a crown (representing the crown prince of Canterbury Castle).
On the right is a warpony of the Domain of Trotterdam. Led by Warlord Coltrane, they are renowned for being the strongest, most powerful ponies in the Realm and indeed most of Equestria. Their preference for 'taking the fight to the enemy' makes them excellent on the offensive, while their armored regalia and horns give them an intimidating and imposing appearance to their foes. Trotterdam warponies tend to also be more unkempt, their homes much like the barbaric Gauls from the times of Ancient Rome. Their domain's heraldry is that of a black rook chess piece upon a yellow shield.

All I can say is that these chaps must either be very serious role players, or they are damn near fanatical about playing chess....
Either way, I hope for their sanity.....
All in all, a good days work.
But they do certainly lack balance, something which the infantry
of the modern day do not lack in any short measure....
I wander how they'll fare up against a Gurkha?
I would say that the stallions would edge the Gurkha out by a hair of an inch, but just barely.

Someone who had made a guild on a game I play used it as their guild banner. I asked in their page who made it, and they directed me to you but I think permission is important for these things. ^^

If you want I can try and contact the person for you, if you want or have any special rules you want them to follow while using it. ( Like linking to your submission ) They have it as a banner in their thread and also on their guild website. @.@ Their guild is MLP based, called the Equestria Knights.

Sometimes it stuns me how all the people who claim to be loving, friendly, tolerating 'bronies' out there seem to lack the basic respect of asking an artist before plastering their work all over things. x.x I like to think some people genuinely do not know that what they are doing is actually rude.

A little question, what is the 'real' name of Trotterdam? All I can think of is Rotterdam, and that isn't very medieval...

Trotterdam = Rotterdam? If yes, I love you for making a Dutch city so awesome (I'm Dutch). Unless there are multiple Rotterdams.

Wow, I actually didn't know that Rotterdam was a city in the Netherlands, though I had the Netherlands in mind when I made up that name; Amsterdam = Trotterdam. Dutch definitely was an influence on me choosing such a name ^^

I thought this was a very clever pun on knight pieces in chess. The crown is queen side, the rook is king side, but then I read the description.

Nope, these two are the generic soldiers of each side. The Prince (Knight Light is his name) can be seen in my gallery, and I have a commission drawing pending of Warlord Coltrane I'll post later when done ^^
