Description
Small set of drawings from a much larger one where I thought I'd give my Sphinx character a little upgrade. Both in backstory and in style. Jus cuz
The biggest change is his name. Lionheart was.. well.. basic. I could call any of my OCs.. males.. with a short version of what's my DA name and other online.. cheap.
Not that Ankh is very original, but at least it follows the Egyptian inspiration. And I like it
His full title is Ankh, Pupil of Neb, Caretaker of the Great Library and the Hall of Records
Because that's what he is: Caretaker of knowledge. I have a complete sheet of his little quirks and whatnots that I had fun putting together and while he is a scholar, I see him doing a LOT more.
Maybe, one day
Till now, I'll probably post more as time goes on.. I don't want to reveal too much of him till I like what I got

I've been away from my DA messages too long! Ankh is a great name for him! I had a similar happenstance with a character I called Jovey, eventually I found a good replacement name, but it was a haaaard decision.

"Lion Heart" doesn't seem like it would've been too bad a name if you'd kept it, but if you like Ankh better, well.... you know what your character needs better than we do. 
He is a cutie. Can't wait to see what other new thins you upload about him.

well at least amongst humans inbreeds are often hated. And the griffons don't seem to be too fancy about the pony kind. The design is great btw.

While I have no doubt a naturally-occurring sphinx might happen (pony+hippogriff/hippogriff+griffon/hippogriff+hippogriff+recessive gene?) He is more of a construct born out of the need of The Great Library to have a caretaker. At least, that's the story I gave him
However, yes, you are right. Mixed breeds are sadly frowned upon despite being people. That is the saddest.
