basically this is all about searching and experimenting. for me it's hard to describe, but i'll do my best.
i start with a sketch with pencil and marker. after concluding, that it sucks, i try to do smth to improve this hopeless piece of crap. so i work with it in ps, using different brushes and lasso tool to put some colors. it still sucks, so i just draw all over it in overlay mode till i'm fed up with it. that's all.
