Soooo, here it is!! Finally... (sorry for the wait) my Acornrush entry and my competition prize!!!

CONGRATS ~TheForgottenRain I really enjoyed reading your story, it had a great twist and I love how Stormpaw and Acornrush ganged up on everyone <3
Also, thank you to all who entered, I loved reading your stories, I was totally spooked out by the end

Overall... this was kinda rushed and it a bit dodgy but shhhhhh just enjoy the effort that went into it!!

CloudClan had claimed as their own. Only dusk-light was given to show each of the faces that
crowded around Acornrush, ears perked and attention directed as the Deputy Tom sat up straight,
a smirk upon his muzzle as he began to tell the gruesome tale.
His green eyes flickered across the group, spotting his mate, Swiftleaf, and their kits,
Drizzlekit, Singekit and Bouncekit sitting just outside the nursery, wanting to hear the tale that
was to be told. Closer in, he could see Gleamfire, Echolight, Pouncequick and his own
Apprentice, Stormpaw, sitting at the front of the gathered cats. Feeling confident, Acornrush
took a deep breath, his creamy chest puffing out as he spoke.
“Has anyone ever heard of „The Reaper‟?” He asked, voice becoming ominous to add
more feeling into the story. Glancing around, the Deputy noted that most of the cats either
remained silent, exchanged glances, or shook their heads. Good. He thought, tail curling over his
paws.
“Well, The Reaper actually was once one of our own. His name, back then of course, was
Snaketail, as his tail was long and thin, looking snake-like in appearance. Now, Snaketail always
had a..thing for she-cat Apprentices.” Acornrush‟s livid green eyes darted immediately to
Stormpaw, seeing that the dark gray she-cat‟s eyes were wide.
“W-what ki-kind of th-thing?” asked Stormpaw, voice quivering with both anticipation
and fear, yet the story had just begun.
“Why, simple, my dear Stormpaw. He had a thing, for murder.” replied the Deputy, ears
perking as a gasp or two broke out in the audience.
Night was settling in further, darkening the camp even more and resulting in a more
perfect setting. With that in mind, Acornrush continued.
“See, Snaketail has killed before, yet always got away with it since he only did it once a
season, around this time of the year, and always at darkening dusk.” It was a bit cruel, but the
Tom was getting more pleasure from scaring his own Apprentice more than the rest of the she-
cat Apprentices that were in the Clan. Why? He wasn‟t sure, but boy, was it fun.

By the time the story was nearly over, night had completely over-taken the camp, the
only light was from the glistening stars above that reflected in the fearful eyes of the cats that
surrounded the brown Deputy.
“...Aspenpaw was the last known victim of The Reaper, the whereabouts of her body,
however, wasn‟t. It is known, however, that the spirits of those Snaketail had killed still roam the
Clan, since they refused to move on to StarClan, as they were meant to. Instead, possessed by the
ever-living spirit of Snaketail, they assist the Tom with his cruel, savage kills. How will you
know when they‟re here?” he asked, taking a dramatic pause as he leaned down, pressing close
to Stormpaw‟s horrified face and whispering something in her ear, that only the she-cat could
hear.
When he pulled back, Acornrush closed his eyes, chin up as he spoke the final piece of
the story, “A scream will be heard, a blood-curdling one at that-” he cut off as a spine-shivering
shriek echoed throughout the camp, all eyes widened drastically as they looked around, trying to
see to whom the yowl had belonged to.
“Hey guys, where‟s Stormpaw?” asked Gleamfire, poking his golden paw around the
warm patch where the she-cat had just been.
Feelings of panic rose in the Clan, cats calling out her name one by one. “Stormpaw!
Stormpaw!” cry after cry, yet no answer was ever spoken.

All hell seemed to break loose at once as the Clan, eyes flashing and flickering about,
except for Acornrush‟s, which were still closed shut and expression unreadable.
“Acornrush! Why aren‟t you-” Blacksong began, but was cut short as a rolling hiss
interrupted, followed by some scuffling and a yelp from another cat. Everyone fell silent and
turned around to see what was happening at the back of the group. Shocked gasps erupted almost
instantly as a reaction to what they saw.
Cherrypaw growled and kicked about as to fight off her attacker, but ceased when she
saw who that mysterious cat was. It was Stormpaw! “Stormpaw?! Get off!” cried the stubborn
Apprentice, pushing her calico-marked legs against the belly fur of the other She-cat,
unstoppable laughter from the dark gray Apprentice making it easy for her to be pushed off.
Bouncing up and padding up to Acornrush, Stormpaw smirked, her tail beating against
her mentor‟s flank as she turned to face the others. “Man, we got you guys good!” She purred,
her sea-green eyes brimming with satisfaction of the fears of others.
Acornrush patted the she-cat‟s head with his paw, proud of their work. “And that is why
you never let me tell you guys a story.” Meowed the Deputy, a purr rising in his throat, yet he
could see the others weren‟t as pleased.
Glancing down at Stormpaw, his vivid green eyes shone with pride. “Fantastic work,
maybe we should do that again next season on some of the new Apprentices.” He suggested, tail
laid across her back.
Stormpaw looked up at her mentor with mischief, “Great idea.”
