Contest entry for :iconwarriorcatscouples:Sooo for the contest we had to say who the real parents were, and you know I thought it was bit fishy that Leafpool was a brown tabby even though Sandstorm and Firestar are ginganinjas! Sooo well, maybe Sandstorm still has feelings for Dustpelt!!

I looked on google. And Princess, Firestar's sister, actually looks like a brown tabby, too.
So my guess is that Leafpool gets her brown tabbyishness from her.

I think Leafpool gets her coloring from Nutmeg, Firestar's mother. You can look her up on the wiki. They both have a light brown tabby pelt with a white chest and paws, so I think the markings come from her?

They aren't brother and sister, sandstorm's parents are redtail and brindleface dustpelt's are robinwing and fuzzypelt, dustpelt is sandstorm's uncle. And leaf kit/leaf pool gets her tabby pelt from princess, firestar's sister.

Interesting theory, but does anyone remember Princess, Firestar's sister? Leafpool gets her tabby pattern from her, it even said so in the Epilogue of Firestar's Quest.

Its annoys me that I always have to remind warriors fans that sandstorm and dustpelt are brother and sister.

this is really good, also Sandstorm isn't purely 'red' like Firestar, she is more of a tannish, since the books said pale ginger. So she also has some brown on her.

true firestar's and sandstorm's grandparents had some brown and even though firestar and sandstorm don't have any brown on them they still have that origin in them even if they r ginger

Leafpool can be brown becuase Sandstorms Grandfather had some brown and so did firestar's dad.

I also learned today that Firestar's mother, Nutmeg was a light brown tabby with some white. If you look on Warriors Wiki and type in Nutmeg you will see under sons Firestar.

Lol. Cats can have litters with kittens that don't match their colors. It's the way genes work. For example, two brown eyed parents could have a child with blue or green eyes. It's all in the genes. And there are many factors when eggs and sperm develop that can make children not look anything like their parents as well.

Well, Firestar's sister, Princess, is a brown tabby like Leafpool, so I wouldn't doubt that Sandstorm and Firestar are the parents of Squirrelflight and Leafpool.
