The incredible TR2N wallpaper...

According to the Trailer presented at ComicCon this is the real font (i had to use the TRON font and tweak the number 2)...

Really nice! I love the original movie and can't wait for the sequel...

So i was searching google images and found this image here [link] and based on it I decided to give it a go and try to make it myself, only bigger.

For this I used GIMP again (which is FREE).

How did I it?

- You first take the Tron font (alas, you'll have to google for it)...
- Now write TR2N and set the size to something really big (i went with 220px). The font will render solid so we need to make an adjustment or two.
- Create a new layer.
- Right click the TR2N layer and select Alpha to Selection
- Go to the menu Select > Grow and enter 5 pixels
- Paint white the selection, we'll call this layer "outer"
- Create a new layer again.
- Go to the menu Select > Shrink and enter 5 pixels
- Go to the menu Select > Invert and delete that. Call this layer "inner".
- Now right click this layer "inner" and select Alpha to Selection
- Go again to menu Select > Invert and click on the outer layer.
- Use the selection to hollow out the "outer" layer
- You can now dispose of the "inner" layer.
- The outer layer should be duplicated four times
- Select the first "outer" copy and apply to it Gaussian Blur at 70, the second 30, the third 10 and the fourth 10 again. Leave the original alone.
- Now duplicate the original layer once more and call it "behind"
- Apply a Gaussian blur of 40 and make it 30 percent smaller and center it with the "outer" layer both vertically and horizontally.
- Duplicate the "behind" layer and make it 30 percent smaller again, this time just center it horizontally.
- Create a new layer and on it draw an ellipse selection. It's larger diameter should be as wide as the "outer" letters. It's smaller diameter should be equal to the height of the "outer" letters. Place it so it's lower curve is at the center of the letters.
- Gaussian Blur this ellipse by 300
- Create a new layer, select the color #7cd5ff and fill it with that color. This layer Mode should be Color.
- Set the color layer transparency to 40.
- Set the Blurred ellipse transparency to 50.
- Set the original outer layer transparency to 30 and place it on top of the other outer copies.
- Set the behind layer's transparency to 50 and it's smaller copy to 25

That's it.

This took longer to write than to get it done. I'm not saying this is how they done it, but that's how I did it. I hope you like it.
