May I present, the lovely Hitomi, of the Dead or Alive series.

She started out as a simple "spur of the moment" unshaded pencil sketch a couple of days ago. I was really pleased with how she turned out though, so I thought I'd add colour, but whereas I would normally proceed to bugger it up by inking all the lines over in black pen, I decided to leave out the middle man, as it were, and just scan her as she was. With good 'ol photoshop 7 at the ready, I took a good stab at it in only a few hours, last night, and I think it turned out really well!

Since most of the pencil lines are still there, I was going for a kind of painted watercolour effect when I started, and I think I pulled it off, albeit with the odd pencil mark wondering off the lines, surrounded by white pixelly bits, now and then. I'll definately use this newfound technique in the future though. It's quicker, easier, and it captures the hair excellently.

All in all, in my first official tribute to DOA's most cutest, sweetest, hotest, and gorgeous..est girl, I think I've captured her beauty effectively.

...And by the way, that rope she's holding on to is part of the swing she's supposed to be sitting on. DOAX fans will understand what I'm referring to.
