Description Here are some of the pics I drew for the last chapter of a small story I created for a fanzine. At first, I had ten pages by magazine because I was sharing the pages of someone with whom I was working in cooperation. The first two chapters were done this way, and I was kind of disappointed. Because I was drawing and she was inking, she killed much of the details and expressions, and it was noticeable that she didn't put much heart into it. I got alone for chapter 03, but then I only had 4 pages.

Running a manga in four pages chapters can be pretty bothersome, plus, I unfortunately have a taste for deep, rich stories that didn't fit the purpose of the magazine, which is to publish one shots or really really short stories. So I decided to end it fast in chapter 4 by writing the story instead of making manga pages, and threw in some drawings to make it lively. Those 3 are my favorites, the 3 others are ok but I don't feel like displaying them.

So, full view and comment please And for the curious ones, I post a synopsis of the story, since it is so short. I like it deeply, would make a great one-book manga. I'm juste so sorry I had to shorten it and cut cool ideas I had.

Elu'thiel van Ternivan (the girl you see) was the youngest heir of her family, deeply loved by her two elder sisters, Leanna and Alluniel. The Ternivan family is one of the oldest and most powerful family of their world. Leanna and Alluniel had gotten to the age where the family's deepest secret would be revealed to them : the Ternivans were protecting an ancient stone, the Angels' stone, which was hidden deep under their castle, never to be touched again. The sisters shared this secret with Elu'thiel even if she was still under the right age. Devoured by curiosity, Elu'thiel sneaks in the secret room to see it with her own eyes. She passes by two angels statues and goes straight to the only thing of interest in the room : the box where the stone was hidden. Her sisters, who had discovered her disparition, rush in at the very moment she opens it. They urge her to get away from there, but too late : a stone covered in black filaments arises behind her. Alluniel shouts in horror, and when Elu turns around to see what frigthened her, the stones strikes her with an energy ray.

She hears voices in her head saying that she had made a terrible mistake, and faints. When she wakes up, her body has changed : she has claws, demon's paws, cat-slit eyes and horns on her head, and the stone deeply struck into her chest. She turns around crying, asking for her sisters' help, only to see them engulfed in light coming from the angels' statues. Angels Neevhel and Arkaël take over their bodies, and then tell Elu'thiel that she must die before she spreads the stone's disease on mankind. Just when they would kill her, she is overwhelmed by the urge to live, and the stone answers : a black entity is freed from the stone and emprisons the angels. A mysterious man rushes in and command her to take his hand. Confused, she obeys, deciding that mysterious men are way better than killer angels. The man shouts a word of power and both are teleported to safety.

He then explains to her he is Serevon kiel Ternivan, a far, far cousin of her. He tells her the story of the stone : long ago, when Hell had decided to invade the Human world, the Angels had decided not to interfere. Two of them, who deeply loved humans, decided to create a stone for them, so they would be able to tap in it's tremendous power to repel the evil hordes. Unfortunately, humans couldn't protect it, and a demon got his hand on it, fusionning his spirit with the stone, forever tainting it. Heaven was forced to interfere to get the stone back, and a terrible war waged. Hellish creatures lost the war and were sent back to Hell, and the stone was put to sleep, with the two angels who had sinned assigned to make sure that it would never wake up again. They lost their bodies and were changed into spirits embodied within statues. The Ternivan family was to forever protect it.

He tells her that in Ternivan history, what she had done wasn't a first; there had been numerous people who had approached the stone and got cursed by it. They got changed into demons and destroyed all that they could before the angels had the time to kill them. His clan, the Eight one, had lost a loved one this way. What is even worst is that angels have to steal Ternivan's bodies since they don't have one for themselves, and that the person who's body is used remembers killing the person with his own hands. Most of them became mad, or committed suicide. The Eight clan's person who killed the last possessed also committed suicide, and so his ancestors decided that, unknown by the rest of the family, the Eight clan would wait for the next person to be possessed and save her at all costs. Serevon was the mightiest mage of the clan, so the task was his. Elu'thiel was the only one known to resist the evil of the stone, so that meant better chances of success.

He then tells her to hurry, and she asks if it's because the angels could find them. Serevon answers that it was the least of her worries since the stone would take, at most, three days to completely take over her soul and body. Startled, she asks if there's a way to save her. He frowns, and answers that there is, but it is one so frightening that even angels would rather commit the sin of murder. She is shocked, and tries to protest, but he silences her and bring her to a cart that would bring them to the ruins of Hiitak. While on the way, she wonders what Serevon had in mind, and thinks about their destination when she realises what lies there. She asks him what he wants to do there, and he takes a deep breath. They are going to Yggdrasil, the tree of life, so that Elu'thiel would plunge in the waters of life surrounding the tree and cleanse the stone with their holy powers.

She protests, saying that this is insane, that they would never be able to approach the tree, protected like it was. Serevon then tells her that it's nothing to be afraid of, that someone took care of it. The real danger lies in the fact that if Elu'thiel's will is too weak, or if the demon's powers are still too strong, evil would spread to the tree of life, source of all life, meaning everything would be tainted and all worlds would become another Hell. She is horrified by such an horrible idea, and refuses to do such a thing, but Serevon's will is strong, and nothing could make him change his mind. It was time such horror came to an end. He brings her to the tree, and when she gets in front of the waters of life, she frees herself of Serevon's grip and says that she cannot take the risk to end all life just because she had been too curious. The gardian angels finds them, and Elu'thiel decides that death would be much better than risking to let evil taint Yggdrasil. Neevhel keeps angry Serevon away while Elu'thiel walks toward Arkaël's blade to die by the hands of an angel, so that the stone would get back to it's sleep.

Serevon's anger overwhelms him, and at the last second, teleports himself in front of Elu'thiel, their eyes meeting briefely before the blade struck Serevon's back, blood spraying Elu'thiel's face. He grabs her shoulders, one of his hands slowly getting to her face, and with his dying breath, he tells her that if one life doesn't deserve to be saved, then all life is meaningless. He utters his last words 'Fight for us' before falling with her in the waters of life. Elu'thiel falls uncounscious, and when she opens her eyes, the Angels' stone floats before her, empty, and the demon is growing and extending in the waters of life, tainting them. Elu'thiel gets struck by images and feelings of death and evil powers, but then Serevon's last words, 'fight fo us' echoes in her head. She refuses to make his sacrifice meaningless, and her strong will to live is reborned. The Angel's stone then shatters, each of it's pieces striking the demon, deeply hurting him. The waters of life echoes to it and light engulfs the demon who disappears with a disturbing shriek. Elu'thiel then faints, out of air...

In the last scene, you see two winged entities watching over four humans lying on the ground before the holy waters. Neevhel asks Arkaël if they ere wrong since the beginning, mercilessely killing the stone's hosts, and if these children had understood something they had missed. Arkaël answers that he doesn't know, maybe yes, maybe not. Maybe such beings were born only to accomplish such a dangerous task, and that it was Yggdrasil's doing. Finally free, the angels set off for Heaven, leaving the humans to their fate, all of them breathing in harmony...

The end! Hope this wasn't too long, and that you liked the story ^.^

Well, indeed, I do mind. This is published, copyrighted work. I'd feel a lot better if you do take it out of Myspace and that it never leaves your hard drive again. I'm glad you asked and are willing to remove it. It's more than a lot of people would do, so I thank you.

While I'm utterly happy that you love my work, I can assure you that any artist that gets it's art stolen, modified and posted somewhere else feels betrayed and badly hurt. You know, we pour our heart into this. So, thanks again for not stealing it!

Beautiful work : ) I hope you plan on revisiting the story one day and making it longer like you originally conceived - it sounds like a fab story : )

Thanks ^__^ I plan to revisit it, I just hope I'll have time someday to redo it even if I'm working on another major story. I'm so fond of stories that involves demons
