Description Yeah I hate those girls with straight hair that isn't natural. It's ok to do it sometimes for a change of looks but dear Merlin... do they have to do it ALWAYS?!
No wonder they run back to the beauty salon to have extensions because their hair is falling apart aside looking like a Llama just lick you all over, your hair burns your ears

I use to do that every other day until I though, "gurl, what the hell are you doing with you hair"? I got my hair cut, went through a lot of youtube videos and embraced my natural texture. Never been happier

I straighten my hair because it naturally puffy, frizzy and when it's straighten it lays down much better and just generally looks much better. Hair cools down after a few seconds, it's not greasy (I always shower every day, naturally). I don't actually straighten my hair that much, I just pull it into a ponytail. It doesn't burn your ears, not if you do it right. But, mostly, I just do it because my hair looks awful if I don't, my hair is healthy but very, very thick, and very puffy.

Some people feel it's more manageable to straighten their hair. Why should that bother you? My hair was permed straight for the past 5 years, and even though I don't do that anymore I still press it. I like it better straight because it's less hassle. And my hair is 100% natural and perfectly healthy. So why is that a problem if that's my choice?

And tons of women (including celebs) use extensions on a regular basis, why is that a big deal either? That's their choice.

Please note I'm not "trolling", I'm just offering a different perspective. I also like to hear people's explanations behind their reasoning so I can better understand where they're coming from.

Well first of all, thank you for the comment. This is the longest I've ever got since I signed up here. Second well I don't have anything against ironing your hair if you don't complain about it. I mean you can do whatever you want with your hair as long as you don't go all cry baby "ohhhh my hair is falling apart I don't know why" and the girls I met do all the cry baby thing.
For me the ironing hair part it's such a pointless activity, I understand there's girls not confident or pleased with the hair they were born with and that's totally understandable. I just made this stamp to state my point of view of keeping it natural and see if there was someone who shared it and apparently there quiet a few.
Once again thanks for sharing and speaking your mind, glad you did.

ephoria516 In reply to LiraWM [2010-08-20 22:22:32 +0000 UTC]

I hear what you're saying, but it's practically female nature to complain about your hair. Girls with long hair want it short, girls with short hair want it long, some don't like the color, some don't like how it lays to one side, the list goes on and on. I don't think it's a big deal. Every girl has issues with her hair.

Also I have a question, why do you call it ironing? Do you use it as emphasis to make a point? I was just kinda wondering.

And thanks for letting me say my piece.

Hehehe I'd be a liar if I said I didn't complain about my hair before, but after 16 I realized that I loved my hair and I stop the war with it hehehe but yeah I get your point.
Ironing? XD well I'm from mexico and in here that would be the exact translation XD sorry if I didn't get it right. Besides the ironing gets a confusion with the real thing so that was what was I aiming to

ephoria516 In reply to LiraWM [2010-08-20 23:13:43 +0000 UTC]

See? We all do it! That explains it though. I know words get translated in funny ways sometimes so now I understand. In english we say flattening, pressing, straightening, that kinda stuff.

I am naturally straight haired girl!

I have some girls in my class with "ironed" hairs. Their hairs always look greasy. It making me sick
I recall one girl in my class forgotten to straighten her hairs, her hairs doesn't look greasy.

But seriously, women... This isn't fucking "The Outsider" and you're not in greasers group. *facepalms*

Aye!

I agree with this stamp, and all similar materialism/make-up-kinda ideas.
Natural beauty is the prettiest form. I find it's very seldom that people look better 'dolled-up'.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LiraWM In reply to jamesuyt [2010-04-15 16:22:50 +0000 UTC]

I do have to admit I use make up but for special ocasions and that's about it! I find it confusing and incoherent that women in general spend a lot in creams for the face and after that they put make up on them. I don't see the point of wasting that much money to a cream that prevens wrinkles, spots and so on and then apply the thing that speeds up these effects >_< what a waste!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jamesuyt In reply to LiraWM [2010-04-15 16:27:46 +0000 UTC]

Now, see, that's okay. I get that dressing up and putting on make-up might make you feel prettier when you go out to an expensive dinner or some kind of gathering. That's fine. It's the people (mostly, but not always, I suppose, women) who go and put on make-up every day. It's ridiculous, and looks silly most of the time. Unless you're a goth chick, which you aren't unless you've got the whole look (fishnet, boots, spike-collar, etc) you shouldn't wear make-up every day, and even if you are a goth chick, just thick eyeliner and you're done.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LiraWM In reply to jamesuyt [2010-04-15 16:45:26 +0000 UTC]

Yup and besides I like when I put some make up I look different and people say "wow you look great" yeah that's because I don't spoil the fun all the days. Besides these girls look like mummys when they don't have make up on

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jamesuyt In reply to LiraWM [2010-04-16 04:23:06 +0000 UTC]

That's probably because you're used to seeing them with it all on. If they stopped, within a few days you'd realise that look better.

As am I

Today's society is much too materialistic. Even guys like do their hair and stuff every morning..

I used to have really long hair, and I'd brush it, but that's it. Now that I've shaved it all off, I've got very short hair, so don't need to brush it or style it xD

I haven't seen anyone do this to their hair and it not look natural. Perhaps these girls near you just don't know how to do it properly.
For example my pastors wife has had straight hair since I met her. Last Sunday she came in with curly hair. Turns out she's naturally curly but you'd never know when she straightens it. It looks so natural.

LiraWM In reply to Eliea [2010-04-14 22:50:15 +0000 UTC]

sugarpoultry [2010-04-14 21:26:53 +0000 UTC]

Well, some of us don't have hair that is just straight, its stupid, annoying wavy and curly hair, and we want it straight.

If we didn't straighten it every day, it would have to be pulled up into a pony tail or let down and I'd look like a cave woman.

So, I support it. Especially if they want to avoid those two things I listed above.
