These are the first in the Quirky Children series I've been working on! It has long been a struggle for me to find time to paint because I work a full-time job as well. With this series, however, I have finally found something manageable and exciting to work on every evening and weekend. I am a collector of ideas and details by nature, I am specifically intrigued by fashion and self-presentation. These quirky little ones allow me to reconfigure some of my favorite details into interesting characters that make viewers want to know more about them. In college I studied psychology and my research was about the way people make impressions about others based on just visual and contextual cues. With that in mind, I hope to learn about the impressions viewers hold of each character. Who are these quirky children? Why are they dressed the way they are? What secrets do they hold? What's their story? All these things are up to the viewer to decide! Please feel free to give me your impressions on any of them if you like! I am eager to see where your mind takes them!
