I found a few that made the 1st Doctor old and feeble like Granny Smith, didn't like 'em too much. Finally, one that makes 'im look but still look young.

Okay, I know the Doctor is multi-talented, but if the pony Doctor had a cutie mark for every talent he would be covered in them.
Then I figured out what his special talent is: running, represented by sand running out of an hourglass.

Is it okay if I redraw this by hand? It wouldn't be for commercial use it's just for me, mostly to get better at drawing ponies in the MLP style. I don't watch a lot of Doctor Who, and the few episodes I have seen were either Ninth or Tenth Doctor episodes, but I know enough about the series to have the opinion that the First Doctor should be a unicorn.

I have a fondness for William Hartnell and the first companions of the show. I like them, they were cool and honestly, I kind of wished Susan stuck around for more episodes.
And I liked the First Doctor's personality traits.

I don't know if you're familiar with Chameleon Circuit; they're a rock band that does Whovian tunes.
Their recent album has a nice punky track that goes:
"I used to be old, but now I feel young
'cause I was a boy when I learned how to run
I could never be settled in one time or place..."
I think of #1 this way. Such a rebel, just a young fire-starter in an old man's guise.

First Doctor! By far one of my favorite incarnations! When it came time for me to watch The Tenth Planet, I was very hesitant to see it because it was his last story, and I knew there would be no more Hartnell episodes after that.

Yup! The challenge is going to be figuring out how much sand to remove for each regeneration.
...actually, now that I think about it, One should have all his sand in the top bulb, and by Eleven most of that sand should be on the bottom...

Didn't it say somewhere that time lords have 13 regenerations (12 lives)? That would help with figuring out the sand.

I think it's 12 regenerations, 13 lives, and my problem is that 13 doesn't divide evenly. I've started with an houglass for One and one for Eleven. But I need to leave room for Twelve and Thirteen.

*Gasp* It's the Doctor! YAY! I can't wait to see the rest of him. Particularly the Nu-Who Doctors and 3, 4, and 7. A fantastic rendition as well. He really does look like the First Doctor. I like how you made him look older, but not like the really broken down old poney that you sometimes see in the show.
