A shot of the lightning in Arizona, during the week where it rained everyday! And the great thing about being in a place where it hot, the day after it rains, you would have never known it had rained if you didnt see or hear it! This is a beautiful picture. I especially love the layers of color and the black trees in the foreground. Getting a good picture of lightning is difficult, I still haven't managed it and I've tried often. So I'm a bit envious. Really nice job!

Do have a manual mode on your camera?
I used a 30 second exposure to get this, and took about 15 of them before I got this shot!

Hmm... I dunno, I might do. I'll have to hunt around to see. I have different 'scenes' I can set it to. Yeah, it usually takes me so many shots to get it perfect!

Well, google the "Sunny 16 Rule" to learn the basics of exposure, look up aperture and shutter speed and go from there!
Or, if you camera has a shutter speed priority, set that to as long as you can! Make sure your camera is on a tripod tho, otherwise the lanndsape will be blurry, and the bolt, and just where it meets the ground will be in focus...youll still have the lightning...but the shot wont be all that great...
It took me so many shots just to get a lightning bolt in the picture!

Well...I stood out in drizziling rain, doing 30 second exposures one after eachother, and I got a total of 3 lightning shots, the one is actualy sideways, but I havent got around to editing it...
