I recommend you to start drawing traditional if you feel more confortable (this was my case) sometimes I draw a simple sketch in paper and then use it as a base in Paint Tool SAI (it's a really good program to draw) and for the color, you can start with cell shading style, it's the easier color style in my opinion^^ Keep practicing and draw what makes you happy!
